In 1987, Stu Semigran, EduCare President and Co-Founder, piloted the ACE (Achievement and Commitment to Excellence) Program in a Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) middle school.
In Scholarship Reconsidered: Priorities of the (1990), he called for a reformation of academic scholarship by challenging the traditional roles of faculty as scholars.
Since 1990, EduCare has served over 230,000 students and provided professional development to 36,000 teachers and parents across 425 schools locally and nationally.
AEF has been a RIF participant since 1993, providing all students in K – 3 with 3 books annually to maintain a personal library at home.
Approximately $2,500,000 of grants have been distributed since 1993 while building an endowment fund of over $300,000.

MISSION & HISTORY: The Okoboji Community School Foundation was established in 1996 to enhance the facilities, services, and resources of the Okoboji Community School District and to provide broader educational opportunities to its students, staff, and residents of the district it serves.
In 1996 new growth meant another new high school (Wylie High) and the 7th and 8th graders moved into their own building.

The name of the Foundation was changed in 2006 to Alhambra Educational Foundation (AEF). The Foundation was started to raise money in the community to support the on-going instructional programs of the Alhambra Unified School District and to support the implementation of new programs.

In 2016, the Foundation broadened their field of interest and established a Special Projects Committee to address enrichment needs that are currently not being met.
Funds are needed for the purchase of additional uniforms, instruments, transportation, teacher salaries, and other items associated with preparing the band for the 2020 parade in Pasadena.
As of spring 2020, the Foundation has administered over $285,250 in scholarships to 144 graduates.
The 28th Annual Partner in Excellence Dinner is scheduled to be at the Pines Manor on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
