This position is an essential part of Sherwin's manufacturing team. This position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to support production requirements and goals. Position Overview: We're seeking a Motive Power Service Technician to join our team. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys mechanical work, solving problems, and providing excellent service to industrial customers. Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair motive power battery systems and chargers at customer sites. Conduct diagnostics and performance checks on industrial battery equipment. Perform preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and safety. Communicate effectively with customers to explain service work and recommend solutions. Qualifications: Experience in installing, servicing, and maintaining similar manufacturing or industrial products Motive Power product experience (batteries, chargers, etc) seen as a huge plus. Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Must pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and DOT medical exam.

Our Motive Power team provides and services batteries used to power forklifts, lift trucks and more! For 100+ years, we've helped keep businesses moving. Our Techs are based out of our Greenville WI office and service the northeast Wisconsin area. Our Motive Power Service Technicians do everything from repair and maintenance of industrial batteries, chargers, and battery handling equipment, to consulting customers on cost-effective solutions, to performing maintenance and testing in our shop. In the beginning, you'll be spending a lot of time in our production warehouse learning the ins and outs of our industrial batteries. May perform welding tasks. · Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards. · Drives and participates in CI activities - processes, results and cost savings. · Updates records and reviews CMMS history. · Troubleshoots and analyzes control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration problems. · Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. · Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to small teams. Performs more advanced functions as a part of training and development. · Completes on-the-job and technical self-study programs for career development. · Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Behaviors Required: · High School Graduate or equivalent (GED). · Associates degree with a Technical focus and 3 years of related experience in general industry; or 5 years of related experience in general industry or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program. · Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze problems and perform repairs. · Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate · May be required to travel. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear.
