What you'll do at Jamf:
The Information Architect is responsible for the organization and presentation of technical content (i.e., the content in user guides, knowledge base articles, technical papers, etc.) across multiple delivery systems and output formats in a way that maximizes efficiency, findability, and ease of use while leveraging artificial intelligence and process automations. The architect is responsible for creating an information model, optimizing searchability of web-based content, conducting user requirements analysis, designing a user-interface/visual presentation strategy that is user-centric, and driving improvements to content creation and publication with the use of AI tooling and strategies.
The position involves elements of technical writing/editing, web interface design and interaction design, requirements analysis, information modeling, technical execution, project management, and leadership, as well as education, coaching, and mentorship.
For those candidates who live near a Jamf office, you may be expected to work periodically in-office or collaborative work location with other Jamf employees in your area for certain events or moments that matter.
What you can expect to do in this role:
Coach and mentor technical content authors on using the CCMS platform, including guidance on information types
Strategy and maintenance of the DITA information model, metadata, and reuse with the goals of providing consistency across the portfolio and optimized translation costs
Develop a plan for future content delivery (i.e., content strategy) such as redefining what type of content should go in a knowledge base article vs. a tech paper and end user delivery/navigation
Advise on the optimal delivery mechanism for significant new content (For example, when a team is building a new feature, lead the discussion of whether the associated content warrants new deliverable or how to incorporate it within an existing deliverable)
Compile, QA, and publish technical product content per Jamf product release schedules and for on-going continuous delivery
Develop and maintain automated publishing workflows
Collaborate with DocOps and Localization peers to test and implement CCMS and publishing platform feature and component upgrades
Create technical documentation strategies for transforming existing content to accommodate changing business needs (e.g., modular content optimized for product bundling/Security SKU simplification)
Guide team members in the creation of technical documentation that is prescriptive and based on user goals/tasks
Work with other information architects on continuous improvements to content taxonomy, metadata, and labeling with the goal of improving the learning portal user experience
Maintain positive relationships and collaborate regularly across content creation teams such as Support, Tech Enablement, Customer Education, UX, and Marketing
Perform technical content inventory analysis and recurring content audits to ensure content is relevant and up to date
Explore how AI can be used to improve existing content creation and publication with a focus on opportunities to leverage Agentic AI capabilities
Oversight of decisions that impact content at the portfolio level
Implementation and planning of in-app help and API documentation
High-level direction for significant UI text that will have a broad impact across an individual product or the portfolio
Serve in on-call capacity as needed for critical customer events

What we are looking for:
A minimum of 7 years of software industry experience working as either information architect or senior technical writer (Required)
Demonstrated expertise with DITA XML, topic-based writing, and minimalism (Required)
Hands-on experience compiling content, performing quality assurance (QA), and publishing to a content platform (Required)
Experience developing and using CI/CD publishing workflows (Required)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (Required)
Business level proficiency in English (Required)
Hands-on or academic experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol), Agentic AI, or other strategies for using Artificial Intelligence in the context of technical communication development and delivery processes (Preferred)
Strong technical acumen; you can read code and have experience with a server-side language (Preferred)
Skilled at using XML editing tools (e.g., Oxygen) (Preferred)
