As the only pediatric rehabilitation program in the region, our expert team offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. Our 20-bed unit is accredited as an Inpatient Rehabilitation Pediatric Specialty Program by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) making Valley Children's one of only two pediatric facilities in the state with this impressive designation, and one of only five on the West Coast. We operate a 39-bed Level II Pediatric Trauma Center that sees about 120,000 patient visits annually. More than two-thirds of the Hospital's patients are admitted through the Emergency Department. We have access to all of the Hospital's pediatric subspecialties and their associated physicians.
The Department is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency physicians. In addition to their years of experience in providing pediatric emergency care, our emergency specialists have undergone a minimum of three years of general pediatric training plus an additional two to three years of fellowship training in pediatric emergency medicine.

Requirements:
Associate degree required, bachelor's degree preferred
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Communication skills - both verbal and written
Ability to understand medical records, physician orders and nursing care plans
Ability to communicate effectively with Sisters, staff and other health care professionals.
Minimum of one year previous gerontology experience preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of psychotropic drugs in current use and drugs commonly used in geriatric practice
Current RN permits or licensure issued by the Board of Nurse Examiners in the State of Texas to practice nursing.

Responsibilities:
