We're looking for a Field Service Technician to join our Charlotte team. In this role, you'll travel to customer sites to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on forklifts, aerial lifts, and other material handling equipment. You'll work independently, interact directly with customers, and help keep their operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct infrared thermography inspections on electrical panels, switchgear, motors, and other critical equipment.
Analyze thermal images to detect anomalies such as loose connections, overloads, and insulation failures.
Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Maintain and calibrate IR cameras and related diagnostic tools.
Adhere to ABM safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs for client facilities.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Role Summary:
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Service Technician is responsible for install, repair, and operation of equipment in support of the services Polygon US provides to its customers while demonstrating Polygon's values of Integrity, Excellence and Empathy. Services that are provided by Polygon include but are not limited to Temporary Climate Solutions and Emergency Drying Services.
Essential Job Functions:
Set up, maintain, and demobilize temporary climate control equipment on project sites
While not working on assigned projects, utilize down time to maintain, and prepare equipment for upcoming projects
Completion of Polygon Provided Training Requirements within the first 6 months of employment including:
OSHA 10-hour training for general industry
DOT physical and certification
Fork-lift and aerial lift certification
GHS Understanding safety data sheets
Hazard communication for general industry
Trailer load securement and safety
Electrical safety courses as follows:
Electrical Safe Work Practices
Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout Tag out)
Arc Flash
Basic psychometrics
Job Qualifications:
Minimum of four years on the job experience in a related field preferred.
Basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and basic mechanical skills. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to perform duties that are physical in nature.
Willingness to work overtime as and when needed and to travel on short notice, sometimes for extended duration (typically 1-3 weeks).

Works with the repair team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing digital imaging hardware and peripherals.
Perform supervisory activities including timecard review and performance coaching.
Assists Customer Service in responding to customer inquiries concerning various aspects of systems operation and problems or issues associated with the digital imaging kiosks and related systems.
Provides technical support and internal training for digital imaging hardware and peripherals.
Maintains the integrity of all aspects of the repair & return process.
Troubleshoots hardware to component level with ability to replace defective components on PC based systems, dye-sublimation printers, digital cameras, etc.
Diagnoses, repairs, inspects and reports status of PC based computer equipment and related digital peripherals.
Assists in repair reporting, documentation, and developing departmental procedures.
Fills in and performs the duties and responsibilities of the Service & Repair Supervisor when necessary.
Reinstalls operating system software and digital imaging application software onto related platforms.
Responsible for repairing and maintaining inventory of field-replacement equipment necessary to fulfill warranty agreement with customers.
Will assist with production activities as needed.
Promote and develop ERP utilization and expertise to support the above functions.
Assist in promoting and maintaining 5S principles and initiatives.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Three or more years in a leadership position.
Thorough knowledge of an ERP system and the necessary functions related to repair, production, and order management.
Three or more years of hardware experience in technical repair, hardware troubleshooting, and/or data analysis and scripting environment.
Functional knowledge of digital imaging systems.
In depth knowledge and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair PC based platforms.
Functional knowledge of PC based hardware platforms including computing devices and components.
Ability to maintain knowledge of changing platforms.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a good working relationship with fellow co-workers.
Strong attention to detail.
Physical Demands
The position requires the individual to spend extensive time at a desk working with programs and computer equipment including a variety of photographic and photographic related equipment in an office or laboratory environment. The position may also require some lifting of standard computer and computer-related equipment, up to 50 pounds.

Job Description
As a Field Service Technician, based out of our Charlotte, NC branch, you will be responsible for traveling to customer facilities in assigned area near your home and performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing forklifts, aerial lifts, and other powered material handling equipment. Company van provided for business use.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Safely and independently troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
Maintaining and repairing internal combustion and electric powered equipment
Provide communication and a positive experience to customers while onsite
Qualifications:
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Knowledge and understanding of Hydraulic Systems
Previous experience evaluating and repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, tractors, automobiles or similar pieces of equipment
Exceptional customer service skills
Must be computer literate, able to use a tablet and a laptop for field diagnostics and internet resources
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, be able to pass pre-employment drug screens, background checks, and physicals.
