Gateway Financial Solutions is a Michigan-based sub-prime lender that has financed consumer auto loans since 1996.
In 2000, J. Kevin Stitt founded Gateway with little more than a computer and a plan to build a different kind of mortgage company.
In 2002—just two years after becoming a Federal Housing Administration lender—our footprint expanded beyond Oklahoma allowing us to support even more people in becoming homeowners.
The bank opened its doors for business on January 20, 2004 in a double-wide trailer adjacent to the site of the permanent bank building in Mendota Heights with six full-time associates.
Construction on the building began in April 2004 with completion and occupancy on October 15, 2004.
By 2006, Gateway had grown to more than 400 employees across the United States
