Job Description: TAD (Transport Authorization Department) Specialist Compensation: $18.00 - $ 20.00 per hour Schedule: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm: Thursday, Friday & Saturday 6:00 am - 6:00 pm: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday (overtime eligible) **will eventually transition to overnight hours** The Transport Authorization Department (TAD) Specialist is responsible for authorization management of non-emergency transports. TAD Specialists work with Communications, Operations, payors, and billing to ensure appropriate paperwork is obtained before or around the time of the patient's transport. Responsibilities: Collaborate with Communications to ensure proper guidance and dispatch for non-emergency transports, including required paperwork and authorizations. Review non-emergency transports to identify the correct payor and determine authorization requirements. Follow established processes to request and obtain necessary authorizations. Manage the Authorization work bin to meet payor requirements. Address customer complaints promptly by investigating, redirecting, or resolving issues. Unit Description: R5 is a unit that specializes in Oncology and End of Life care. We work closely with our Palliative care team, whose office is located on R5. Oncology care ranges from, symptom management, radiation, Chemo (IV and oral), medication side effects and Oncological Emergencies. When starting on R5 you will not be required to hang IV chemo for the first 6 months to one year. When you become comfortable with the R5 population we will train you in chemo administration. We currently have a Full Time (36hr/wk) Night Shift position available. On-Call: Not Required Incentives: $10,000 Sign on bonus. Subject to tax withholdings and also prorated for any part time positions (additional terms and conditions apply). Requirements: Current RN licensure recognized by the State of New York required. Performing additional responsibilities as needed to support student success and contribute to the overall effectiveness of our educational community. ‖ Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent w/ passage of basic skills test. Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study preferred. Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a state driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training. Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, teaching assistant or similar credential preferred. Prior experience working with children, preferably in a special education program setting. Highly skilled in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities and/or challenging behaviors. Comfortable driving and/or riding in a company van with students before and/or after school. Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions. Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals. Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability. Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
