    Job Description Title: Medical Director Reports to: Chief Program Officer Youth and Family-Well Being Hours: 21 hours; Part time; Exempt Salary: $180 - $200 / hour Job Summary: Individual provides guidance for all medical staff, implements best practice and guides the overall organizations medical practice. The Director evaluates the quality of medical practice and keeps the agency apprised of new and important developments in the field. As a clinical leader, the Director will represent GSS in public forums and outside committees and will develop relationships with other organizations which can contribute to success. Works collaboratively to ensure compliance with the Article 29-I healthcare policies and procedures. Major Duties: Ensure compliance with standards set by Article 29-I policies and procedures. Responsible for compliance with City, State and Federal medical mandates and other funding sources related to medical care of participants. Ensure the provision of high-quality health care to children and youth and families in the in Youth and Family Well-Being Division. Work collaboratively with Vice Presidents of Physical and Behavioral Health to ensure consistent care best practices. Provide clinical advice and guidance to staff within the Integrated Health department to promote best practice. Provide medical coverage and advice as needed after hours. Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with the professional community, referral sources, government regulatory bodies and funding sources. Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other agency personnel including interdisciplinary teams Provide agency wide medical information regarding issues that are arising and may impact all participants and staff. Provide guidance to Human Resources and other agency stakeholders regarding pandemics, endemics or outbreaks of illnesses as needed. Participate on agency wide incident risk management, and other committees as necessary Act as an agency designee for signing consent for youth in foster care. Provide direct service to children and youth including physical exams, camp exams etc. as needed. Prescribe medication as needed. Maintain a culturally competent, trauma informed and youth and family development focus. Bill for clinical services provided in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned. Serve as a member of the Agency Leadership Team. Maintain active malpractice insurance coverage Qualifications: MD/DO who is board certified in General Pediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine Must possess a current New York State Professional medical license and DEA license Excellent communication and clinical skills Solid knowledge about the New York Child Welfare system. Qualifications Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience; or a high school diploma and five (5) years of professional experience in community-driven programs working directly with children, youth, and families. Requirements Bachelor's degree in nutrition, food studies, culinary arts, public health, community health, or a related health & wellness field Who You Are Experience implementing hands-on nutrition education and cooking activities in school-based, after-school, camp, and/or community-based settings Proficient in nutrition concepts and cooking skills Excellent classroom management and presentation skills Comfortable working in various urban settings and with diverse populations Team-oriented with strong organizational and collaborative skills Animated, energetic spirit and a positive, resilient attitude Adapts well to changes in assignments and priorities with the ability to respond effectively to new information, changing conditions, and unexpected obstacles What You'll do Conduct curriculum-based nutrition education classes/workshops for students, in grades Pre-K through 12th grade Facilitate cooking lessons to teach students healthy recipes, cooking techniques, kitchen tools and equipment, and safety Maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning, creativity, safety, and fun For those working with students in Pre-K - grade 2, incorporate songs, puppet shows, arts and crafts, and a variety of creative approaches to teach healthy eating Advocate healthier eating for students, families, and staff Provide clear classroom instructions, including learning objectives and transitions Provide consistent motivation, enthusiasm, and role modeling for healthy lifestyle choices Schedule Fall & Spring: Monday-Friday, between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM (exact hours determined by site location). Summer: Monday-Friday, between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM (exact hours determined by program needs). Commitment Requirements: After-school programming: Minimum of 20 hours per week, with at least 4 hours per day. Summer programming: Expect to work 40 hours per week. Please note that the schedule is fixed, and consistent attendance is required. You must be available to work five days per week, and we are unable to offer scheduling accommodations. Full availability during the assigned hours is essential for this role.
