Job Summary/Description:
WTVG-TV, the #1 station and award-winning ABC affiliate in Toledo, Ohio, is seeking a dynamic storyteller who can creatively and concisely gather and give viewers factual information. You must be interested in and dedicated to local news and have a passion for informing people, whether it's through broadcast or digital. Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Generate, gather, and provide news and information in the most accurate, appealing, timely, and creative way
* Use writing skills for on-air and online
* Write and post digital-original stories before airing of the television version

* Must be able to utilize non-linear editing equipment on a daily basis

Our newsroom requires visual journalists with more than one special area of expertise. Our visual intern must be able to handle assignments for still photography and for video storytelling.
All candidates must have still photography/video skills to cover a wide variety of events, in news, business, sports, features, and a demonstrated interest in creating innovative content that adds a dimension beyond the daily report for the newspaper, website and mobile platforms.
We expect a familiarity with all forms of social media for newsgathering and distribution.
Qualifications:
Candidates for the position should show a strong, developing visual sense for still photography. They should have experience shooting video with a DSLR and dealing with lighting, as well as a dedicated video camera and video editing skills. Knowledge of audio production is an advantage.
Candidates should also have knowledge of Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and audio editing software. Familiarity with HTML and a solid understanding of video encoding techniques are a bonus.
Top candidates can demonstrate they're ready to make the most of this opportunity. The term will be early June to early August.

Internship Summary:
The Valerie Friedman Emerging Journalists Internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic radio newsroom, ideal for students with a passion for audio journalism and in-depth news reporting. Interns will work closely with the CT Public News and Radio team to produce accurate, unbiased, and engaging content. This internship is a unique opportunity for those looking to develop their skills in broadcast writing, audio production, and field reporting.
Interns will learn the fundamentals of writing for broadcast, recording, editing, and mixing audio, and assisting reporters on field assignments. They will also participate in news meetings, contribute to newscasts, and may be involved in advanced tasks like conducting interviews or reporting stories. To update, gather, edit and create sports content for DenverFan.com. Ensure that all content on DenverFan.com is fresh and represents the high standards of 104.3 The Fan.
