Prior to her work with emerging technology companies, Shevawn held positions as VP, controller and financial director at several well-known financial organizations. At Fidelity Investments, Fleet Bank and Blue Cross MA, Shevawn oversaw the financial planning and accounting and served as a financial advisor to senior management for the IT groups. At Fleet Bank, she also served as the division head for the operating division providing bank wide administrative and logistics support. John Kaminski

John Kaminski is Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Plant Science at The Pennsylvania State University. His appointment is 75% extension and 25% research. He also serves as Director of the Golf Course Turfgrass Management Program, an 18-month intense training program for future golf course grounds managers.

Dr. Kaminski's primary research includes the cultural can chemical management of turfgrass diseases as well as various weed species. He has been involved or responsible for the identification and/or discovery of 4 relatively new turfgrass diseases found on golf courses including dead spot, brown ring patch, and thatch collapse as well as the purported new disease referred to as Pythium patch. In addition to his pathology work, he is involved in research on annual bluegrass as well as various cultural practices that impact turfgrass health.

Within the Department of Plant Science, Dr. Kaminski also works in the emerging field of hemp production in Pennsylvania. His interest in this area includes the evaluation of hemp varieties grown in the field for CBD and other cannabinioids as well as the plant's safety to herbicides.

In conjunction with his work at Penn State, Dr. Kaminski is a leader in the are of communication and social media in the turfgrass industry. He created and manages several websites and social media accounts where he shares the latest pest information for turfgrass managers around the world. He also developed the free turfgrass pest app Turfpath, which has been download approximately 30,000 times.

Outside of Penn State, Dr. Kaminski is the Chief Agronomy Officer of GreenSight Agronomy. GreenSight is a Boston-based technology company that utilizes proprietary imaging hardware/software to detect turfgrass stress on golf courses with autonomous drones. John also consults with various golf courses around the United States and select countries around the world.

Recently, John worked with Dr. Alfred Turgeon to co-author the latest text for turfgrass professionals. Turfgrass Management Edition 1.0 was released in August 2019.
