1899

GVA Advantis' roots can be traced to 1899, when David H. Goodman moved to Norfolk and joined The Lowenberg Company.

1917

* 1917: The company became The Lowenberg Goodman Company, focusing primarily on buying and developing commercial real estate.

1929

* 1929: S. Barron Segar scooped up two small rental businesses and merged with S.A. Woodward and Son.

1933

Segar bought it out in 1933 to become Segar and Company.

1944

Segar and Goodman's companies both became major players in real estate and eventually merged in 1944 to form the Goodman Segar Company.

1964

BRPH, founded in 1964, handles multiple disciplines in-house, including planning, architecture, engineering, interior design, and construction.

2005

* By 2005: The company had grown with acquisitions in Atlanta, Tallahassee and Washington, D.C., and employees bought ownership from St Joe.

2009

* July 2009: The company abruptly closed and sent employees home by e-mail.
