RevenueCat removes the headaches of building and scaling in‑app subscriptions. Since graduating from YC's S18 batch we've grown into the default monetization platform for mobile: we're in >40% of newly shipped subscription apps, we process $10B+ in annual purchase volume, and we help everyone from a solo dev in Brazil to the OpenAI mobile team understand and grow their revenue.
We're a remote‑first crew of 100+, guided by values we actually practice: Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance. If you want your work to touch hundreds of millions of end‑users (and help the developers behind them get paid), you'll fit right in.
The Role
We're looking for a highly capable, experienced Controller to own and scale the accounting function at RevenueCat. You will be the company's most senior accounting leader and will partner closely with our Head of Finance to build a world-class function that can support a rapidly scaling SaaS business with IPO ambitions.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-ownership role at a fast-growing, venture-backed company that recently raised a $50M Series C and is backed by top investors like Index Ventures and Bain Capital. You'll lead the month-end close, oversee financial reporting, manage audits, elevate controls and processes, and set the foundation for future ERP implementation.
If you want to run an accounting function with autonomy, influence foundational decisions, and shape the infrastructure that enables us to achieve long-term goals, this is the role for you.
About you:
You have 8+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years at a Big 4 accounting firm working with technology or SaaS clients.
You hold an active CPA and have deep experience with US GAAP and financial reporting.
You've played a meaningful accounting role at a SaaS or enterprise software company, ideally in a high-growth environment.
You have experience leading audits (bonus points for a company's first audit) and can independently manage external audit relationships.
You've been responsible for month-end close, consolidations, revenue recognition, and technical accounting at scale.
You are comfortable operating with limited oversight. You know how to build, own, and improve accounting processes end-to-end.
You have prior people management experience and enjoy mentoring and developing talent.
You are US-based and knowledgeable about US accounting, payroll, and tax frameworks.
You are process-oriented, detail-obsessed, and love building structure that scales.
You are comfortable with ambiguity, and like tackling problems with unclear solutions. You're comfortable flexing outside of the bounds of accounting, and contributing to the company more broadly.
Ideally you have:
Experience with Stripe, QuickBooks Online, and/or implementing an enterprise ERP (i.e. NetSuite).
Exposure to IPO readiness, either at a company preparing for one or through advisory work at an accounting firm.
Experience with global payroll, M&A, consolidations, and multi-entity setups.
In the first month, you'll:
Develop a deep understanding of our current accounting stack, processes, month-end workflow, and reporting structure.
Take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness from day one.
Assess existing internal controls, identify immediate improvements, and propose an initial roadmap.
Build strong relationships with Finance, People, Ops, and GTM teams to establish alignment and cross-functional workflows.
Within the first 3 months, you'll:
Fully own and run our month-end close process and ensure consistent, auditable financials.
Lead all key accounting functions, including revenue, AP, AR, payroll accounting, expense management, and reconciliations.
Develop and document scalable internal controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures.
Begin scoping requirements and timelines for an financial audit.
Within the first 6 months, you'll:
Implement and refine accounting processes that improve speed, accuracy, and compliance.
Evaluate and strengthen revenue recognition frameworks, ensuring alignment with SaaS best practices.
Lead the charge on legal entity, payroll, and tax considerations as RevenueCat continues to scale globally.
Start managing and mentoring junior accounting team members or external partners.
Within the first 12 months, you'll:
Deliver a fully documented, efficient, well-controlled accounting environment built for scale.
Initiate a full financial accounting audit with minimal disruption to the business.
Build the roadmap for IPO readiness.
Become the company's trusted accounting leader and take responsibility for ensuring our financial foundation is rock-solid as we grow.
What we offer:
Competitive equity in a fast-growing, Series C startup backed by top-tier investors, including Y Combinator
10-year window to exercise vested equity options
Fully remote and flexible work environment
4-5 weeks of suggested time off annually for mental, physical, and emotional recharge
$2,000 USD for workspace setup and $1,000 USD annual stipend for continuous learning
