The Communications Specialist supports the execution of internal communications strategies designed to inform, engage, and connect employees across the organization.
This role focuses on managing intranet content, creating newsletters and email campaigns, drafting executive correspondence, and supporting communications planning.

Major Responsibilities:
Maintain and update intranet pages to ensure content accuracy, visual consistency, and employee engagement.

Support the development of executive messages, memos, and presentations, ensuring clarity, tone alignment, and brand consistency.
Assist in developing and executing communication plans for HR and enterprise initiatives, tracking timelines and deliverables.
Ensure all materials adhere to company Healthcare's voice, style, and brand standards.
Help monitor communication effectiveness through analytics, feedback, and engagement data to inform continuous improvement.
Assure compliance with company ethical standards in all communications.

Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
Plan and execute Evry Jewels events from start to finish, including venue sourcing, catering, activities, timelines, and on-site coordination.

Support influencer, media, and brand events, including potential LA-based activations.
Ensure events align with brand identity and create memorable, on-brand experiences.

The Communication Technologies and Engineering Division (CTED) represents the disciplines of communications, networking, and PNT (Position, Navigation, and Timing) in support of space missions, along with their enabling technologies. In our domain, CTED projects comprise all aspects, from architectures to prototypes to implementation, theoretical to hands-on. Our engineers work directly with corporate and U.S. Government customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.
DCID uses software-defined radios and FPGA technology to develop advanced communication and navigation system prototypes that solve our customer's most challenging problems related to digital communication systems.
Main-mission communication satellites, wideband links, command and telemetry, and terrestrial networks, along with their enabling technologies, are the domain of the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division. The division comprises all aspects, from architectures to implementation; our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient communication systems.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop and implement advanced signal processing algorithms with applications to GPS/GNSS receivers, communication transceivers and/or digital signal processing primarily on FPGA hardware.
Analysis of signal processing performance using MATLAB, Python, or similar simulation environments.
Prototype cutting-edge real-time systems for emulation and proof of concepts.
Research pertaining to advanced signal processing, GPS technology and/or re-configurable communication systems.
Tasking will vary during the internship and may include simultaneous projects.
Training and mentorship will be provided in this position.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an advanced degree in an accredited college/university program in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer engineering, electrical engineering or other related discipline.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Corporate Communications Intern who will support day-to-day communications activities and special projects.
Areas of Responsibility
Assist with day-to-day corporate communications activities
Writes and edits communications for a variety of audiences
Provides project management support for special initiatives and campaigns
Develop multimedia elements as needed to complement communications projects
Ongoing communications monitoring and measurement
Performs all other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Enthusiasm for using communications technology tools
Experience using social media and digital platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to organize tasks and prioritize workload
Strong attention to detail
Familiarity with AI applications and an interest in leveraging emerging technologies in communications
Software proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or Canva desired, as well as proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
Positive attitude toward working in a diverse, inclusive environment and enthusiasm for collaborating effectively on a remote team.

Education, Training
Current undergraduate student (graduating after December 2026) with preferred major in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Digital Marketing or a related field

Pay Transparency Statement:
US Base Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00
Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.
In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.

About the Role
As a member of the Corporate Affairs & Communications team, you will support the team in its global internal communications, PR, social media, and digital and community relations initiatives. The internship provides valuable, hands-on experience in several different communication areas and gives you the opportunity to learn from a professional team with diverse backgrounds and talents.
Your Team
This position reports into the Director, Internal Communications, but will partner with multiple members of the Corporate Communications team.
What You Will Do
Support internal and external communications, including managing content, editorial calendars and analytics on our internal intranet and social media channels.
Provide organizational support for HARMAN Inspired (HARMAN's global community relations program) through promotional asset creation, product distributions and event coordination. Provide administrative support necessary for events and campaigns.
Act as a roving reporter and photographer for events.
Serve as a resource to coordinate internal and external resources, vendors, and stakeholders.
Aid in content management for department and dissemination to global teams including cataloging content/video resources, updating corporate information and producing media clippings and analysis.
Gain exposure to other areas of Corporate Communications, including Product Public Relations and Division Communicators to assist with ad-hoc projects.
What You Need to Be Successful
Previous entry level work experience strongly preferred
Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be able to confidently interact and present information to allow levels of the organization, including senior leaders
Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
