The primary focus of the Senior Supervisor, Quality Management will be to provide team leadership to a customer-focused team of Quality Production Inspectors, that support groups of teams committed to increased quality and productivity. In accordance with organization goals, provide direction on activities and behaviors. Motivates team members and facilitates team meetings. Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans, tasks, and solutions. Provides guidance to team on development, performance, and productivity issues. Represents the team, presenting team suggestions and recommendations on processes and procedures in accordance with organization cost, quality, and productivity goals. Reports to functional and/or organization management on team accomplishments, achievements, and productivity. Manages a shift and multidepartment area.
Hands on leader with responsibility for resolving challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution, as well as creating and implementing the strategic vision for the Production Quality Inspection Team.
Supports production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. Communicates with parties inside and outside of their own team to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production, total quality management, manufacturing, equipment, and material management.
Schedules work, assists with employee selection, review employee performance, administers work rules and disciplinary action, and recommends compensation.
Ensure personnel are qualified for assigned duties. Implement cross training on production line.
Validates product and documentation for compliance to applicable requirements through inspection and GD& T measurements. Prepares Product and Product Articles for presentation to the customer for acceptance and delivery.
Assist in training employees in all aspects of the inspection role, Inspection Technique, tool use, Training requirements and compliance to AS9100, customer requirements and company practices.
Must interface successfully with internal customers by discussing inspection related requirements, issues, and resolutions.
Present schedule and production data at daily production and weekly program meetings.
Responsible for departmental planning, staffing, and production priorities. Contribute data to annual budget forecasts.
Plans and establish operational objectives for their team that result in positive impact on department.
Provides day-to-day direction for direct report(s), focuses on maintaining steady workflow and productivity and resolving operational decisions.
Aid in the work of standardizing inspection processes across multiple programs.
Aid in the development, creation and implementation of inspection initiatives related to cost and efficiency.
Take a lead role in building a culture that reinforces compliance with all requirements, instructions, drawings, and training.
Responsible for compliance with L3Harris/FOS policies, procedures, standard, and training.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior relevant Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, 2 years post-secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Have an understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution. Requires broad job knowledge of technical or operational practicies with the Quality discipline.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with Military/Space workmanship specifications and IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 soldering specifications or work and experience in a similar field.
Previous GD & T - background, working with various hand tools (micrometer, dial indicator and plug gauges).
Experience reading drawings, inspection instructions, Work Instructions, and engineering specification documents.
Experience reviewing manufacturing documentation for accuracy.
Soft skills (I.E. Proficient in MS Office, Strong communication…).
Knowledge of AS9100.
Process Improvement, and SPC desired.
