The designer will apply their knowledge designing low and high voltage, high frequency switch mode power supplies in collaboration with fellow senior power supply engineers and will provide mentorship to junior power supply engineers. The individual must work with other engineering disciplines to ensure power supply designs meet the power, thermal, emissions and safety requirements of the system requirements. Essential Functions: Proven track record designing AC/DC and DC/DC power converters. Proven track record designing and analyzing EMI filters. Ability to generate power distribution architectures. Proficiency in simulation and analysis of analog/power circuits for stability, efficiency, power draw, in-rush, etc. Confident in writing and reviewing specifications and test approaches for power supply circuit designs. Able to select and design magnetic components for discrete power converter designs. Create schematics for analog/power circuits, support printed circuit card design. Conduct and participate in internal peer design reviews, design verification testing of engineering units and oversight of design into production. Perform analog and power testing in a laboratory setting for development components and circuit cards. Work in conjunction with multi-disciplinary engineering teams for digital, RF, mechanical and systems engineers on the overall program/project performance. Ability to lead a team and prioritize tasks to meet allocated schedule and budgets. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant (Power Supply, Electrical Engineering) experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: Understanding of power analysis with MathCad, Excel, or similar tools. Experience with electrical simulations using SIMPLIS and SPICE modeling tools. Experience with CAD tools (preferably Mentor Graphics) for schematic entry and layout. The individual must be able to work from oral and written instructions, be dependable, positive, assertive, a team player and have a strong desire to succeed. Great communications skills to expeditiously coordinate efforts through all phases of the engineering and manufacturing process while contributing to a high-performance team environment to meet customer needs.
