Job Title: Rental Inside Sales Representative

POSITION SUMMARY: The Rental Inside Sales Representative influences sales of Caterpillar and Allied (non-Cat) machinery offerings and other related technology products throughout the territory. The Rental Inside Sales Representative passes along other business unit sales opportunities to the appropriate department. The Rental Inside Sales Representative builds and maintains relationships with customers and assists the customers with all of their Rental needs. The Rental Inside Sales Representative assists in the company's on-going Sales, Product and Marketing efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prospect and develop customer accounts and provide information on the products and services offered by Rental Department.
Develop E-commerce and other business opportunities for all rental accounts, provide quotes, and close sales.
Reach out to dormant and inactive customers on a regular basis..
Promote new users and customers to CAT Rental Portal.
Provide customer training on CAT Rental Portal.
Contact customers post delivery of equipment as well as post return of equipment to maintain positive communication and feedback.
Act as a main contact Rental Representative for walk-in traffic and as well as rental portal leads and online generated leads.
Assist in clean up and maintenance of machine population and customer lists.
Assist with rental cash and credit collections.
Work with current and new customers on Cat Card offerings and sign ups with corporate initiatives in mind.
Effectively utilize Saleslink (CRM) and other technology applications to better assist customers.
Generate leads in CRM for other Hawthorne business units and assigns them to the appropriate branch or division representative.
Maintain customer contact information in CRM and IRS.
Responsible for Cat Rental Store management and CX efforts for assigned branches.
Assist in marketing campaigns, special events and other duties as needed.
Provide assistance / support to Rental team for coverage and growth of Retail and Small Core customer base rental sales.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the company, department or individual goals and objectives.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must have high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration preferred.
Preferred minimum of two years in sales with experience in customer service and marketing.
Must have ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
Must be organized and a good planner.
Ability to set and meet goals.
Must possess an aptitude for social media and other web-based forms of communication and interaction.

The Corporate Service and Inspections Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities that drive growth in service and inspections across all Wiginton branches. This role focuses on building customer relationships, attending industry events, generating leads, and promoting Wiginton's full suite of fire protection services. Under the direction of Corporate Service Leadership, this position supports the company's long-term strategy to expand service and inspections revenue and strengthen our presence in key markets.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales. It works closely with the Vice President of Service and branch service teams to ensure successful onboarding and retention of new service and inspection contracts.
Experience, Education, and General Background Skills
Required
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Valid driver's license and ability to meet all insurance requirements
* Minimum 7 years of outside business-to-business sales experience
* Strong communication, customer service, territory management, lead generation, cold outreach, and market analysis skills
* Ability to travel, attend events, and work independently
* Strong organizational and time-management skills
Preferred
* Technical sales experience, especially in fire protection or building services
* Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and sales tracking tools
* Experience attending trade shows, networking events, or industry association functions
Physical and Mental Demands
Must be able to perform extended periods of mental concentration, visit job sites, and interact with customers in both office and field environments. Requires clear communication, normal range hearing, and corrected vision. Must be comfortable meeting with customers, standing at events, and traveling as needed.
Position Duties (Basic)
* Analyze and understand market opportunities for service and inspection work across all service territories.
* Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate sales goals.
* Attend industry events, trade shows, conferences, networking functions, and customer appreciation events to generate new business leads.
* Build, grow, and maintain strong long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
* Act as a corporate ambassador by representing Wiginton professionally at all customer and industry events.
* Target and pursue selected leads to establish new service and inspection contracts.
* Conduct on-site customer visits to understand needs, present solutions, and close sales.
* Present features and benefits of Wiginton's service and inspection programs and secure signed contracts.
* Develop strong partnerships with property managers, facility teams, contractors, and decision-makers to expand Wiginton's network and referral pipeline.
* Maintain an accurate CRM database for prospecting, follow-up, forecasting, and contract tracking.
* Respond quickly and professionally to requests from existing and prospective customers.
* Prospect for new accounts, perform cold outreach, and close opportunities that align with corporate growth goals.
* Collaborate with branch service managers to ensure smooth transitions and high customer satisfaction for new accounts.
* Continuously expand knowledge of NFPA standards, inspection requirements, and industry trends to educate customers better.
* Manage time, travel schedules, and sales activities effectively to maximize productivity.
* Complete all required paperwork, reporting, and documentation accurately and on time.
* Identify cross-selling opportunities within service, inspections, and other divisions to increase account value.
* Maintaining a consistent follow-up routine to nurture prospects and convert leads into repeat customers.
* Support corporate marketing initiatives by sharing customer insights and participating in outreach campaigns as needed.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with territory Rental Sales Reps to grow existing customer relationships & provide support to secure rentals and equipment sales. At the direction of the Branch Managers, takes the lead on all large projects in the territory as the point of contact for the General Contractor. Works as primary point of contact for all military bases in the territory in order to secure rentals and equipment sales.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works with all Rental Sales Representatives in the field to establish and grow new and existing customer base.
Establish year over year growth with list of βkey customersβ assigned by Rental Manager.
Assist customers in selection and application of equipment pointing out product advantages; represent company's interests.
Ensure all business transactions are conducted in accordance with company policies.
Quotes customer daily, weekly and monthly rental rates and rents out the equipment.
Explains terms and conditions of the rental to the customer. Completes rental contacts by writing specifications; creating bid proposals; pricing changes; obtaining, following up on credit application and required paperwork.
Coordinate & monitor transportation & logistics for rental equipment fleet.
Tracks all equipment out on rent and in the rental fleet. Logs daily activity. When terms of the rental agreement are not met, customer is contacted and billed for additional days.
Follow-up on adjustments and corrections; coordinating information and requirements with service supervisor; demonstrating proper use of equipment.
Checks in equipment upon return, checks for damage and coordinates with service for fueling, repairs, etc.
Maintains rapport with customer by communicating progress; resolving renter concerns.
Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must have a high school diploma or have passed a G.E.D. test.
College degree in marketing or business is preferred.
Minimum two (2) years' experience in rental material handling, capital goods retail sales/service, or logistical experience preferred.
Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
Must have a valid State Drivers' License with a good driving record.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Must have good working knowledge of MS Office programs.
