The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in advising on technical matters, directing skilled trades personnel within a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the maintenance department meets its objectives in safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate both professional and breakdown maintenance activities to support production goals.
Drive improvements in equipment throughput, reliability and uptime.
Provide coaching and mentoring to hourly and supervisory team members in applying production methodologies, including problem-solving and corrective action implementation.
Supervise and support Skilled Trades employees in daily operations and continuous improvement efforts.
Collaborate with the Professional Maintenance Specialist (PMS) to address equipment-related issues, including downtime, run-to-run variability and throughput challenges.
Champion waste reduction initiatives through SPW pillars: Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Professional Maintenance (PM), Quality Maintenance (QM), Focused Improvement (FI) and People Development (PD).
Lead and participate in Kaizen activities focused on enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of industrial automation experience with project management experience
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
Solid technical understanding of maintenance strategies, including Time-Based Maintenance (TBM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and Dynamic Maintenance (DM).
Ability to influence key performance indicators such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and equipment condition standards.
Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
Proven ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and team development.
Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated troubleshooting problem solving experience

Working Conditions:

What you'll do
Working in one of our residential homes alongside our experienced care team, you'll implement individual treatment plans tailored to meet the needs of boys ages 12-15 in our program. You'll mentor, join in recreational activities, and create a warm, loving home for teens who need a refuge.
Shift Supervisors are also responsible for providing support to program management by organizing, directing, and supervising the direct care team on each shift in order to assure consistency and continuity in treatment.

Ability to safely operate a crane to load/unload slabs from storage racks.
Ability to work in software program Moraware, the operator must be able to find and work to a schedule and update slab locations in the Moraware program. Computer skills are necessary here.
Ability to work with the Slabsmith system to take pictures with this equipment and check calibration on a daily basis to ensure the Slabsmith system is functioning properly. This is done in conjunction with the MAL Engineer.
Ability to pre-inspect slabs to a quality standard provided and to identify discontinuities in the slabs before placing them into inventory.

Essential Responsibilities
Provide services as determined and according to person served person-centered plan
Provide feedback, positive reinforcement, and other strategic interventions to guide and direct trainees.
Provide general supervision to trainee's during attendance at Lapeer Team Work and community-based work sites
Onsite liaison with community-based employers, to resolve job-related concerns
Complete Progress notes, Incident reports, Time sheets and collect data relative to trainee's program plans and submit at appropriate staff meetings
Assist in identifying goals and objectives for trainee's program plans.
Review files on trainee on an annual basis, and as a new trainee begins program
Monitor and provide training, as needed, regarding quality control of work
Must be able to exchange accurate written and verbal information
Support a positive attitude and support the employment environment
Nonessential Responsibilities
Attend in-services, conferences, staff meetings, and other training as scheduled
Assist the agency with fundraising efforts, community awareness activities, and participate in community events as necessary or assigned

Submit to background check at orientation and annually thereafter
Must obtain Recipient Rights Training within 30 days of hire
Must obtain CPR/First Aid Training Certification within 90 days of hire
Obtain and keep current any other trainings deemed required by other governing agencies or the Executive Director
Must obtain appropriate Public Passengers Chauffeurs License or CDL certification (established at hire) to drive 15 passenger vans to works sites throughout Lapeer and surrounding counties
Physical Requirements

While performing duties of this position, the individual is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, kneel.
Individual must possess fine and gross motor skills and may frequently reach above shoulder level, and push/pull objects
Qualifications
Special training or experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
Experience with behavioral health issues.
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a driving record in good standing and acceptable for company insurance requirements
