A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.
Performs diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures in a clinical setting. Operates conventional, fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to physician specifications and/or orders. Assists the physician with the performance of various diagnostic and interventional procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician. Supports the education, training and quality improvement process.

Education Qualifications
Associates degree in radiologic technology, allied health, applied science or completion of certificate/training program is required.
Bachelor's degree in allied health, applied/radiologic science or related field is preferred.
Experience Qualifications
2 years of experience in interventional radiology or special procedures is required.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Licensed Radiographer in the state of practice is required.
Certification as a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography (RT(R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.

Job Summary:
Takes x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and provides support for the imaging department. Performs standard laboratory tasks according to procedures. Position responsible for performing waived testing and may perform phlebotomy when needed. This position only performs plain films and fluoro.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Explains procedures to patient to ensure understanding. Provides appropriate educational material.
Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assists technologists with preparing patient for radiology exam by positioning the patient for the procedure.
Assists technologists with filing, delivering and retrieving patient reports and charts, matching films to folders, and delivery of reports to patient units/physicians.
Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, laboratory work area, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when CT Technologist is not on site.
Collects, labels, processes and preserves blood, urine and other specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
Enters, accesses and executes lab orders in the appropriate laboratory and electronic medical record system.
May perform phlebotomy and/or waived testing.
Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties including admission activities, insurance verification, order entry processing and medical record processing.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
