The Housekeeper is responsible to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation throughout the community buildings. The Housekeeper will clean common areas, resident apartments, interact with residents, and complete paperwork as well as follow written and verbal directions.
Requirements for a Housekeeper :
High School Diploma or equivalent
Some previous experience in housekeeping/cleaning.
Responsibilities for a Housekeeper :
Systematic cleaning and disinfecting of all rooms assigned (Bathroom/resident room). Cleaning and disinfecting of all public restrooms and offices.
Follow cleaning protocols as designated for deep cleaning assignments. Appropriate use of cleaning products.
Vacuum, wipe/dust/mop community. Appropriate use of cleaning products.

UMC is currently seeking a Housekeeper for our Pitman Manor Community.
Pitman Manor, a UMC Community in Gloucester County, our senior community in Pitman New Jersey, is truly integrated into the life of the town. We are part of a beautiful residential neighborhood, near to highways and public transportation with easy access to both Philadelphia as well as the Jersey Shore.
The Housekeeper is supports the residents' care and services through ensuring their overall home is clean and tidy. These individuals value the importance of a clean community that makes for a happy environment for residents, visitors, families, and associates. They also understand that their work prevents infection and disease; which is particularly important with residents who are frail and illness prone. The position of Housekeeper II is to maintain all community floors (carpet and various surfaces) in sanitary, clean, safe and attractive conditions.
Requirements for a Housekeeper:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Some previous experience in custodial/janitorial preferred.

Job Overview
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of resident's apartments and common areas as assigned by the Maintenance Director.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide housekeeping services in resident apartments by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, and laundering linens.
Ensure common areas are kept clean and sanitized as assigned
Handle and store all cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations
Maintain housekeeping storage areas are clean and organized
Report maintenance issues to the Maintenance Director
Ensure safety issues are reported immediately (broken glass, water leaks, broken locks, broken toilets, etc.)

Physical Abilities
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 50 lbs. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents. The associate must use proper body mechanics.
