About This Role
As an Engineering Manager on the Managed AI team at Crusoe, you will play a critical role in leading and scaling a team of engineers building our next‑generation AI inference platform. You will be responsible for guiding the team through the design and implementation of high‑performance, fault‑tolerant infrastructure to serve large language models (LLMs) at scale.
This role combines technical depth with people leadership - you'll help shape the engineering roadmap, drive execution across key projects, and mentor a team of high‑caliber engineers. What You'll Be Working On
Team Leadership & Strategy:
Manage and grow a team of software engineers working on Crusoe's Managed AI platform

What You'll Bring to the Team
Leadership Experience:
2+ years of experience managing high‑performing engineering teams
Strong track record of hiring, developing, and retaining engineering talent
Ability to lead teams through ambiguity and drive alignment around complex technical goals
Technical Depth:
Prior hands‑on experience building distributed systems or AI infrastructure
Deep understanding of cloud‑native environments, container orchestration, and service‑oriented architectures
Familiarity with GPU performance, inference frameworks, or LLM‑based systems is a strong plus
Product & Delivery Focus:

About the Role:
This role will serve as the subject matter expert for equipment specification, selection, and coordination for all Mechanical and Electrical equipment for Data Center Projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical systems and a minimum of general understanding of electrical systems.
What You'll Be Working On:
Develop and own the standard specifications for central MEP equipment. You will be the author for mechanical equipment specifications and will gather information from the electrical engineering group to co-author electrical specifications.
Optimize energy efficiency and sustainability for central mechanical systems.
Gather project design needs across multiple projects to develop project-specific bid packages.
Drive equipment consistency across projects.
Review the available equipment from vendors, and recommend optimal vendor selections.
Review proposals from vendors, and level bids on a technical basis.
Review and approve submittals / shop drawings to ensure alignment with project needs.
Verify that central systems are incorporated into the design, and installed, tested, and commissioned properly.
This role will coordinate tightly with procurement to ensure Owner Furnished (OFCI) equipment is specified, bid, and procured to meet project needs. You will create, edit and own specifications for projects. You will also coordinate with the external design team and engineers to understand the project needs.

Extensive experience in design and construction of data centers

What You'll Work On
Build and govern Crusoe's enterprise engineering design standards for mechanical, electrical, and critical infrastructure systems
Lead reliability engineering programs including FMEA, RCM, RCA, uptime strategy, and risk modeling
Develop asset lifecycle strategies, predictive maintenance programs, and long‑term capital planning
Model power, cooling, airflow, and liquid-loop performance to optimize system capacity and readiness
Serve as L3 escalation for complex MEP issues and major incidents
Lead technical audits, quality assurance programs, and engineering evaluations across all campuses
Partner with Construction, Commissioning, and Operations to enable scalable, high-density AI workloads

DAY IN THE LIFE:
As an Engineering Project Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Projects, provide leadership to cross functional project teams and serve as the primary liaison for all activities between Nooter/Eriksen and its customers. You will handle all customer related activities, both technical - with the appropriate support of internal subject matter experts - and commercial - to the authority limits of the position, balance overall project budget and cost control and communicate financial status and contributions/cast flow projections monthly to executive management, and work with various groups within Nooter/Eriksen to establish the initial project schedule and to continually provide feedback to the Project Scheduling group to improve the scheduling process and its effectiveness. You will travel occasionally; up to 10% of the time at most.
QUALIFICATIONS. We want the person selected for this role to be successful! The following qualifications are essential to be effective in this role:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, an MBA or equivalent experience; with relevant management experience
At least 3 years of experience as a Project Manager within the engineering or a technically relevant industry with a track record of successfully managing $10M+ fixed price projects;
Excellent leadership, talent building, communication, and customer-service skills;
Highly professional, organized, and trustworthy team player; and
Proficiency in English.
Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
This role will require up to 15% travel (domestic and international with some weekend/holiday overlap) and must be available for response to customer/jobsite issues at all times.
