Prepare construction plans, estimates, specifications and bid documents for roadway and highway projects for MDOT and local municipalities according to applicable agency standards Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work in a team environment Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Responsibilities: Identifying prospective clients and taking an active or lead role in the proposal process. Acting as project manager on major complex projects. Assigning duties to project team members. Estimating time and hour budgets for projects, and meeting those budgets. The technical accuracy of projects. Assisting clients, as required, in the selection of contractors. Assisting clients, as required, in monitoring performance of contracts. Maintaining a good relationship with the client, after project is finished, to assure securing future work. Supervision of Project Engineers and other staff assigned to project team(s). Providing estimates of project staffing requirements. Development of performance specifications for non-standard items required for projects.
