Primary Purpose
The Intelligent CAD Design & Standards team is focused on a digital transformation, moving from a traditional, non-smart design platform to a model based, data driven design ecosystem for the design and engineering of electric substations. This position is responsible for using a suite of Autodesk software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical & Autodesk Vault) as well as SDS Toolkits to develop 3D models of substation equipment for the purpose of assembling substation models and developing smart electrical schematics to generate physical and protection & control design packages.
Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties
* Create/develop Inventor parts and assemblies for the design & engineering of electric substations
* Use tools within the software to execute engineering calculations, analysis, and assessments
* Assemble Inventor parts and assemblies into full electric substations and manage part and assembly specific data within the models and AutoDesk Vault
* Use design and engineering principles to convert High Voltage, Civil, Protection & Control design standards into models and smart drawings
* Develop required procedures, job aids, and flow charts to support the maturity of intelligent design
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve data accuracy, drive maturity as well as integration with other systems

Minimum Qualifications

Maintain and update Aries databases through SQL and Access queries, Spotfire, and other means to assist Reservoir Engineers in economic evaluations, development planning, resource development, budgeting, and quarterly reserves reporting
Maintain non-operated data within Aries by gathering and compiling data from operator reports
Provide support in the quarterly reserves process, including development schedule planning and forecasting, and the generation and QC of economic inputs
Gather and assimilate data from multiple data sources to generate charts, slides, and other materials for presentations to key stakeholders
Work with multi-disciplinary teams such as Operations, Geology, Land, Strategic Planning, Finance, and Marketing to provide data-driven analysis impacting business decisions

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY
Core Lab is seeking an Engineering Technician for our ProTechnics division. This role involves hands-on work in building, assembling, testing, calibrating, and maintaining electronic and mechanical equipment. The technician will diagnose failures, qualify components, and suggest design improvements. Responsibilities include bench and oven testing, high-temperature soldering, and using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Build and assemble electronic circuit boards according to specifications.
* Assemble various tools and equipment required for operations.
* Perform bench and oven testing to evaluate equipment performance.
* Calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
* Conduct repair and maintenance of both mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Test and qualify components to verify functionality and reliability.
* Apply troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve equipment failures.
* Provide recommendations for design improvements based on testing and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Associate degree in Electrical Engineering required; Bachelor's preferred
* 3+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience)
* Experience in diagnostics, repair, calibration, and temperature testing
* Oil field industry experience is a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
* Proficiency with electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.)
* Strong soldering skills (SMT hand soldering); IPC certification preferred
* Familiarity with mechanical tools (drill press, lathe, mill)
* Solid troubleshooting and deductive reasoning abilities
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* The employee may be asked to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes. The employee may also be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

As an on-site Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul Engineer supporting Delta Tech Ops, you will support the maintenance and overhaul of gas turbine engines throughout the product life cycle. This includes technical packages, technical queries, variances, cost reduction, engine and life management plans, as well as being the primary technical interface with Delta Tech Ops in Atlanta, GA. The role requires knowledge of the Maintenance and Overhaul tools and processes, the ability to effectively liaise with Rolls-Royce engineering specialists for timely disposition of technical variances, repairs and FAIRs, and the Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) designation.

Key Accountabilities:
Provide on-site lifecycle support to Delta Tech Ops to provide solution to issues such a part rejection rates, assembly/disassembly issues, challenges with feasibility of repairs and test cell rejection troubleshooting.
Work directly with overhaul technicians to answer questions or provide clarity with regards to the engine manual as needed.
Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arising
Introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions
Provide technical surveillance and quality assurance audits to support continuous product enhancement for customer satisfaction and business expectation.
Develop and approve the technical content of technical publications/communications (used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers) including acceptance limit development.
Identify cost reduction opportunities by reviewing and maintaining life cycle engineering policies and any associated maintenance planning documentation.
Manage any issues that effect the Maturity, Lifecycle Cost, Reliability and Maintainability and maintain Design Intent.
Provide lifecycle technical data (build/in-service/decommissioning) and model/support modelling of through life performance, deterioration mechanisms and service attributes to create and maintain time on platform prediction, identify opportunities for optimization and support the generation of the Service Operation Validation Strategy.
Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers, internal stakeholder.
Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and to adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders. Where delegated, act as the Technical Authority providing assurance on build, commissioning and maintenance activities.
Gather in-service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and Learning from Experience activities, feeding back into future programmes and product design teams.

What you'll do:
Prepare specifications and other engineering documents to procure, install, and commission a wide variety of hydro-electric equipment and systems.
Plan and direct hydro-electric equipment refurbishment projects from disassembly to return to service.
Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures.
Represent the company at shop inspections and factory acceptance tests related to hydro-electric systems to ensure equipment in shop meets specifications and Industry codes.

Provide operations & maintenance with industry best practices that drive equipment operational reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
Manage project implementation and complete projects on time and on-budget.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, controls) to support project integration.
Utilize equipment predictive data analysis to enhance equipment performance and recommend outage schedules for performing preventative maintenance.
Develop electrical schematics and drawings to guide installation and maintenance of hydro-electric equipment and systems.
What skills and experience you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a minimum of four years' work experience in a related field.
Travel as required for project supervision and execution (~30%).
Strong understanding of power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
The ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other disciplines.
