Indaver company history timeline
Indaver nv is founded on October 24th 1985 by the Flemish government and 15 private companies to provide a solution for the waste of the chemical industry.
Two years later the landfill is commissioned and on October 5th 1987, Indaver receives its first delivery of waste to its Antwerp site.
Physicochemical plant number one was commissioned a year earlier, in 1988.
By the end of 1989 Indaver has incinerated its first 1,000 tonnes of waste.
Indaver Ireland is established; with Indaver Italia and Indaver Portugal following in 2001.
Indaver Portugal was created in 2001 as a commercial branch of mother company Indaver NV (Belgium), with 2 local employees.
In 2006, Indaver Portugal built the waste transfer station in Abrantes.
