Acts in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals in the responsibility for patient drug therapy outcomes. Is responsible for assisting the pharmacy director with preparing and performing all activities involving the pharmacy and therapeutics committee. Assists the Director in complying with all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations. Will assists in new process implementation and quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for inventory management and the ongoing financial performance of the pharmacy. * Assists patients in enrolling in manufacturer-sponsored patient assistance programs, copay cards, and other financial aid resources. * Verifies eligibility criteria for assistance programs and maintains accurate documentation. * Completes and submits patient assistance applications on behalf of patients. * Tracks application status and follows up with manufacturers, insurers, and patients as needed. * Educates patients on available financial assistance options and guides them through the process. * Responds to patient inquiries regarding medication costs and program requirements. * Works with pharmacists, prescribers, and insurance specialists to ensure timely medication access. * Documents all interactions and program activities in the pharmacy system or designated software.
