Jay Farner is Chief Executive Officer of Quicken Loans, the nation’s largest mortgage lender. He is responsible for the leadership and growth of the company. Jay joined Rock Financial in 1996 and quickly became one of the company’s top mortgage professionals. In early 1997, he became a Director of Mortgage Banking and played a significant role in training and development for Rock Financial, the company’s former Michigan-only brand. During his time as President and Chief Marketing Officer, Quicken Loans launched Rocket Mortgage, the first fully online and on-demand mortgage experience. Detroit-based Quicken Loans was ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction for Primary Mortgage Origination” in the United States by J.D. Power for the past nine years, 2010-2018. Quicken Loans was also ranked highest in the nation for client satisfaction among mortgage servicers by J.D. Power for five consecutive years, 2014 through 2018. Quicken Loans was ranked in the top-15 on FORTUNE magazine’s annual “100 Best Companies to Work For” list in 2019, and has been among the top-30 companies for the last 16 years. The company has been recognized as one of Computerworld Magazine’s “100 Best Places to Work in IT” for the past 14 years and ranked No. 1 for six straight years, 2013-2018. Along with his work for Quicken Loans, Jay serves as an executive board member for Community Solutions and the Metropolitan Detroit YMCA. Jay holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University and is a member of the 2011 Crain’s Detroit Business 40 under 40 class. He resides in the Detroit area with his wife Wendi and their three children.
