Job Duties: * Develops production schedules to meet internal goals as well as the expectations of customers. Strong strategic planning, resource management, and problem solving to improve overall business and staff performance. * Working to streamline operations and maintain compliance and regulations. Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, workflows, and systems to enhance efficiency and productivity. Explore Seda at: ************************** What You Will Do: Specific Duties: • Lead and manage the operations team across all production areas-including Printing, Blanking, Labeling, and Forming-while overseeing labor, budgeting, and cost control to ensure alignment with business and customer requirements. • Direct and coordinate manufacturing activities in accordance with established goals, policies, and performance standards. • Drive operational excellence through the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to optimize workflow and maximize return on investment. • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to define and uphold standards for cost control and waste reduction, while promoting a lean culture and deploying best-in-class manufacturing practices. • Actively participate in daily and weekly Operations Staff Meetings, providing timely updates on performance, priorities, and progress. • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration by communicating proactively with Sales, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, HR, Finance, and IT to resolve issues, streamline processes, and enhance overall results. • Coordinate and maintain internal documentation for manufacturing process changes, particularly in response to new product applications or customer requirements. • Analyze production data and prepare reports and recommendations by engaging with leadership to support planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. • Partner with Materials Management to schedule production runs and ensure efficient resource allocation across manufacturing areas. • Utilize project management tools to organize, track, and drive initiatives to completion. • Oversee Print and Forming operations, engineering, and logistics, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, Hygiene, Quality, and environmental regulations. • Ensure production schedules are met consistently and efficiently. • Develop and manage operational budgets, maintaining financial discipline and cost-effectiveness. • Uphold GMP, ISO, and internal quality standards to deliver products that meet or exceed customer expectations. • Play an active role in partnering with recruiter, retaining, and developing top talent across the operations team. • Lead by example-coaching, mentoring, and cultivating a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture focused on results and continuous growth. • Ensure robust safety and environmental programs are in place and effectively managed. • Serve as backup for the Senior Operations Manager or Shift Supervisors during absences or vacancies, as required by customer agreements. • Remain flexible and responsive to evolving business needs-additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. What You Will Bring: • A Master's degree in Engineering or a Science-related field, with 5-7 years of hands-on production experience in print, packaging, or electromechanical manufacturing. Supervise maintenance staff, coordinating work for them and their offender work crews; ensuring staff hire, train and supervise a full work crew that can perform the task assigned. This includes but is not limited to building maintenance, painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, roofing, concrete demolition and repair, fencing, dry walling, etc. Keep offender time, evaluate offender performance and counsel job related problems, up to and including job removal of the offender. Update offender job hiring and generic notes in ICON as needed. Ensure all state and federal code requirements are followed and reporting is submitted in a timely manner for systems such as the sprinkler system and back flow inspections, fire alarm inspections, boiler inspections, generator emissions reporting, site air quality emissions reporting, underground fuel tank inspections, x-ray equipment testing, gas and water meter calibration testing and other systems as needed. Enforce rules and regulations for the entire offender population. Write disciplinary reports as needed. Assist other departments as needed with institution security, and assist Security dept. in the event of an escape. Participate as a member of the institution management team by attending regular meetings, assisting in staff interviews, and reviewing policies and procedures. Monitor tool control in maintenance and power plant areas. Implement OSHA, EPA, DNR, NFPA, NIC and ACA standards. Ensure that all projects and tasks fall within the guidelines of the jurisdictions having authority. Inspect work sites daily for safe and sanitary work conditions. Ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment is used when needed/required. Ensure safety equipment and safety training has been completed prior to work being performed. Work on an on-call basis, responding to institutional needs for maintenance and repair by assisting staff over the phone, returning to the institution, or calling in appropriate staff to correct the situation. Monitor energy consumption, motor fuels, use of tools, supplies, materials, equipment, and parts. Maintain an adequate inventory for the normal operation of the facility. Maintain an annual contract with local utility for natural gas transportation and supply.
