Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive, quality nursing care by monitoring, evaluating, and implementing patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current RN License in the State of Georgia or Multi-State Compact.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and patient/family education skills.
Ability to prioritize, coordinate care, and function effectively within a team.
Commitment to professional development, evidence-based practice, and upholding confidentiality and safety standards.

Direct Dialysis Patient Care: Monitor patients before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments.
Assess vital signs, manage the dialysis machine, administer medications (e.g., heparin, saline), and evaluate the patient's response to therapy, applying independent clinical judgment.
Care Coordination & Planning: Collaborate with nephrologists and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Prioritize and coordinate daily patient flow within the dialysis unit to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.
Patient Education & Advocacy: Serve as a primary educational resource for patients and families on kidney disease, dialysis treatment, vascular access care, diet, and fluid management.
Advocate for patient needs and ensure a patient- and family-centered care approach.
Technical Proficiency & Safety: Operate and troubleshoot hemodialysis machines and water treatment systems.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

Licensure: Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license or Multi-State Compact RN license.
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required upon hire. Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) is a significant plus.

Exemplary Practice: Learn to perform the Nursing Process for complex CVICU patients (e.g., post-cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, MI). Provide patient and family-centered care in a high-stakes environment.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Coordinate safe patient care within a high-intensity interdisciplinary team. Engage in unit rounds and clear communication with cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, and specialists.
Professional Development: Actively engage in all residency and CVICU-specific competency assessments, simulations, and educational sessions. Begin developing preceptorship skills.

Technical Skill Acquisition: Develop proficiency in managing invasive hemodynamic monitoring (e.g., Swan-Ganz), intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), ventricular assist devices (VAD), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and vasoactive drug drips.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
Skills-Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)

Current BLS certification (required upon hire)
Less than 1 year of professional RN experience (New Graduates welcome)
Strong desire to specialize in cardiovascular and critical care nursing
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN) is required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License (or must obtain prior to start).
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification is required within 180 days of hire (training provided).
Less than 1 year of professional RN experience is required.
This position is ideal for New Graduate RNs passionate about critical care.
Prior student clinical rotations or externships in ICU, CVICU, or Step-down are a plus.
Ability to read, write, and speak English language.
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
Aptitude for developing critical thinking and time management skills in a fast-paced, technical environment.
Basic computer skills; Epic/3M experience is a plus.
