MAJOR FUNCTION: Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. Ensure operation of laboratory instrumentation by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Perform, evaluate, and record quality control and institute corrective action as appropriate. Take part in proficiency sample testing, when appropriate.
