Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM, with an on-call rotation and overtime opportunities.
As our Residential Service Installer, your day starts with a quick dispatch from your home to the job site, where you're ready to install high-efficiency HVAC systems with precision and care. Under the direction of either the Warehouse Manager and/or Delivery Manager, the Delivery & Installation Technician I is responsible delivering and install product in a professional, courteous and safe manner that will leave a positive final impression with our customers. Additional duties will also include shipping and receiving of product.
Responsibilities:
Shipping, Receiving, and Delivery:
• Loading the delivery truck and verifying that the product loaded into the delivery truck is correct to ensure that the right product leaves the building.
• Deliver the product into customers home/facility in a safe and appropriate manner to avoid damage and injuries.
• Assembling the product correctly and efficiently to ensure the product is in safe working order when they leave the delivery site.
• Have and maintain a safe driving record and a DOT card to drive company vehicles.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees, customers, owners and vendors.
• Deliver product to and remove product from state fairs, home & garden shows, model homes, and any other special events that arise.
• Understand and follow all safety policies.
• Regular inspection of the company vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is in satisfactory condition to be operated.
• Ensure timely invoicing of all deliveries and installations.
• Responsible for safekeeping and the ensuring of authorized use of fuel cards/company issued credit cards.

• Assembling the product correctly and efficiently to ensure the product is in safe working order when they leave the delivery site.

What you will do
Performs assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Responds to basic warranty calls. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
How you will do it
Loads system-level controller software.
Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, actuators, etc.) and completes all required commissioning documentation.
Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
Documents change and provide information for as-built documentation.
Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
What we look for
Required
2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field or at least 3 years of industry experience or experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
