My career in mental health spans twenty seven years and hundreds of miles from Dallas, Texas to Thornton, Colorado. As a therapist, I specialized in working with high-risk children and families. Later launched Doucet and Associates, providing consultations for psychiatrists and other clinical staff, and acted as a liaison between school systems and other social agencies for clients. I served as Assistant Executive Director of Community Reach Center in Thornton, Colorado for a year and have been the Chief Executive Officer since 2001. I serve as the liaison for various state and community agencies, and I'm a contributing member of several Colorado committees addressing mental health and substance abuse issues, program development, and outcome measures. I have served as a Governor’s appointee to Colorado’s Medical Assistance and Services Advisory Council, Governor’s appointee to the Health Information Advisory Committee and appointed to the advisory council of the All Payer Claims Data Base, served for two years on Congressman Bob Beauprez’s and Congressman Ed Perlmutter’s Medical and Insurance Advisory Policy Committee , currently a member of Mental Health Corporation of America, and the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare. I was recently elected to the School Board for School District 27J.
