The Paraprofessional is a seasoned, creative, energetic, and flexible individual who supports the Youth Department team within the Youth Development After-School Program. This is accomplished through a curriculum focused on academic tutoring and mentoring. S/he is knowledgeable of basic teaching principles, and applicable school related issues. The Secondary Summer School Program is intended for students who are enrolled in grades 9-12 and continue to require credit recovery to pass a course in order to be promoted. The program includes an online platform (Edgenuity), with mandatory student attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students will be expected to complete assignments online, with teacher support, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Wednesdays as an optional day to receive additional support. A teacher professional development session will be held regarding the online instruction program (Edgenuity) utilized in Summer School on Thursday June 25, 2026. Teachers will support their students in-person and virtually.
The Secondary Summer School program will run from June 30, 2026 to July 30, 2026. Professional staff hours are 8:00am-12:00pm Tuesday-Thursday. In order to be considered for the program, you must be available to work for the entire duration of the program. Those who do not have full availability may apply for a substitute position in the program.
