The successful candidates for this position must demonstrate strong technical skills with current ATC automation, simulation systems and procedures. The CTS Instructor is a hands-on position that requires the candidate to effectively and consistently deliver the highest quality classroom and/or simulation laboratory training to a wide variety of students including developmental air traffic controllers and Certified Professional Controllers (CPC).
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsible for ensuring that air traffic control specialists provide the flying public with a high level of safety and professionalism. A well-trained Air Traffic Control (ATC) workforce plays an essential role in fulfilling this responsibility. The FAA employs more than 14,000 air traffic controllers. They work in air traffic facilities of varying sizes, safely separating more than 50,000 aircraft in the National Airspace System (NAS) each day.
To provide such air traffic services, the FAA trains new air traffic control specialists and provides recurrent training to current air traffic control specialists. The FAA utilizes Contractor-provided instructional services at FAA ATC facilities throughout the U.S. and its Territories to ensure these training needs are met. The scope of the contractor-provided services includes all training and training program support to successfully train and prepare students to become fully certified air traffic controllers. SAIC must provide training and training related support services as required for all types and levels of ATC facilities.
Required Qualifications:
US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
The CTS Instructor candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years of FAA CPC experience controlling live traffic, or recent experience as a contract Instructor at an FAA facility. Experience must have been at the same type and same [or greater] level of ATC facility as the San Juan CERAP (ZSU).
Desired Skills and Experience:
Direct experience as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) at the San Juan CERAP (ZSU) is preferred but not required.
Operational Experience with ATC simulators including scenario design for simulation platforms (e.g. TSS, AT Coach, SGET, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels to ensure the delivery of training services meet the needs of the local facility, as well as the FAA's overall Air Traffic Control mission is highly desired.
Experience demonstrating excellent teaching and/or platform skills, classroom management techniques, and a student-focused drive for continuous improvement.
Education:

Adjunct Faculty - Mental Health Counseling Course Delivery: Cambridge College Puerto Rico, courses are offered in a dual-language format (Spanish and English). English is the primary language for course design and presentation, while Spanish is the main instructional language. Candidates must be fluent in both languages.
Schedule & Location: Courses are delivered on campus at our San Patricio, Guaynabo location. Classes are held on alternate weekends, full days from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Course Description: Cambridge College Puerto Rico is seeking an experienced temporary adjunct faculty member in Mental Health Counseling to teach graduate-level courses at our San Patricio, Guaynabo Campus. The position requires bilingual fluency (Spanish and English), expertise in Mental Health Counseling, and a strong record of teaching and professional practice in counseling or higher education.
* Applicants must reside in Puerto Rico and be willing to travel on weekends to the San Patricio campus.
* Attendance at faculty meetings, orientations, and required training sessions is mandatory.
Note: Candidates with only a master's degree will not be considered, as the Cambridge College Puerto Rico programs are graduate-level.
Compensation: $500-1200 per credit. Adjunct faculty pay rates vary, depending on the academic discipline and the course's credit load and level.
Requirements:
* Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling, Professional Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited U.S. higher education institution.
* Current and valid Professional Counselor License issued by the Puerto Rico Department of Health, in compliance with Law No. 147 of August 9, 2002, known as the Law to Regulate the Practice of Professional Counselors in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
* If the applicant does not hold a current professional counselor license issued by the Puerto Rico Department of Health, they cannot be considered, as this is a profession regulated by law.
* A minimum of four (4) years of higher education teaching experience in Mental Health Counseling, or four (4) or more years of clinical, supervisory, or leadership experience in counseling, mental health, or human services settings.
* Demonstrated experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Canvas.
* Evidence of being current in the field, including knowledge of ethical standards, best practices, and recent research in counseling and mental health.
* Graduate-level teaching experience and a record of professional practice, publications, or professional contributions in the field are highly desirable.
* If you operate a University owned, leased or personal vehicle at any time while performing your duties you must follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual. You must have a valid driver's license and must successfully pass the online safe Driving Course and driving record check at time of hire and annually thereafter. Additionally, you must report any driving offense, on or off company time, which causes a loss, suspension, or any other change in your license status. You must report this change within one business day of the offense. You can report this change to the Human Resource Department or your direct supervisor. Failure to do so can lead to disciplinary action, up to and including terminations.
* Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.

* Should have a demonstrated ability to build working relationships with people having a wide variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences different from ones' own.
