    We're hiring a full-time Lead Instructor for our First Coast Technical Academy (FCTA) training center in Seattle, Washington! JOB PURPOSE We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead Instructor of Technical Services to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep, hands-on expertise in commercial HVAC/R systems, electrical infrastructure, and building automation/controls. This leader will be responsible for supervising a multi-faceted FCTA training center as well as teaching technicians and supporting their career growth. First Coast Technical Academy training facility is located at a Boeing facility. It includes travel up to 25% to support regional teams, training centers, and field operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of the technical training center, ensuring high-quality instruction and facility readiness. Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple trades including HVAC/R, electrical systems, and controls Conduct training of technicians, and trains and supervise a small cadre of support instructors Support the growth of technical training staff through mentorship, coaching, and performance development initiatives. Help develop and execute technical training programs, ensuring alignment with evolving technologies, safety standards, and operational goals Facilitate advanced support and oversight for BAS/EMS systems, including digital/analog I/O, system integration, and programming logic. Assist with complex diagnostics, commissioning, and system optimization in the field as needed. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HVAC/R, electrical, and controls, including 5+ years in a leadership or director-level role. Minimum 5 years of experience training technicians in technical skills related to their job requirements. Deep knowledge of commercial HVACR systems, electrical distribution, and building automation platforms. Proficiency in BAS/EMS systems, digital and analog I/O, and programming for HVAC and energy systems. Must hold or have held a valid journeyman or trade license in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical (Washington State or transferable). Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and influence technical strategy. Experience designing or overseeing technical training programs is highly desirable. If awarded, the endowed professorship will be an initial five-year appointment which is renewable at the discretion of the School of Medicine Dean (at the recommendation of the PBSCI Chair). JOB SUMMARY AND STRUCTURE The holder of this senior leadership role will be charged with providing leadership for an exceptional clinical, educational, and translational research program focused on improving the lives of individuals and families affected by substance use disorders, adapting or developing preventive or therapeutic approaches and solutions for individuals and families struggling with addiction problems, and facilitating productive collaboration among a diverse group of addiction researchers, clinicians, educators and policy makers who collectively make up the department's Division of Addictions. Primary duties include: · Provide direct supervision and instruction for students placed in designated DCYF offices including the following duties: · Supervise and evaluate CWTAP students' field experience; · Provide weekly individual and or group supervision for each student; · Develop quarterly syllabi for foundation and advanced practicum; · Develop instructional activities to address the learning goals of the program; · Develop and facilitate integrative and educational seminars; · Develop educational contracts; monitor students' field experience and progress; · Help students integrate theoretical knowledge, classroom experience, and current practice; · Provide an educational climate that challenges students to expand their professional skills, knowledge, and values including working with a diverse client base from a culturally relevant perspective; · Document Title IV-E case forms, meetings, correspondence, and plans regarding each student's progress; · Recruit, select, assign, and support DCYF social workers as student mentors; · Collaborate with students and mentors to develop skills and activities that reflect the objectives of the student's learning contract; · Ensure that student conduct follows the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) code of ethics and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) competencies; · Assist students in complying with their DCYF Participants' Agreement; · Attend local and statewide CWTAP meetings and conferences; · Participate in the program's Recruitment plan; · Recruit and screen applicants for the program; · Communicate with the SSW Practicum Office, partner with field advisors, child welfare faculty, DCYF supervisors, and social workers about curriculum development, program activities, and student progress; · Provide quarterly reports of program activities to the director of CWTAP; · Other duties as assigned by the Director Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to · · Previous service with the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families; · · For candidates with clinical social work backgrounds, LICSW; · · Supervisory experience; · · Demonstrated commitment to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice framework; · · Demonstrated experience and cultural humility in working with Tribal communities; · · Experience working in multiple regions of Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families Work Conditions This position is housed at the University of Washington, School of Social Work, and the designated DCYF offices in King County. Work will be performed at one of the DCYF offices at least three days per week and work will also be performed at the University of Washington, School of Social Work two days per week. The job requires occasional travel to other parts of the state and at least one national conference. The field instructor must provide their own transportation to each of the work sites. Travel reimbursement will be arranged for other required travel. Work is based on a forty-hour work week. Hours may be irregular, with days that may begin before 8 am and end after 5 pm, as needed. The field instructor will work very closely with other field instructors, field advisors, and program coordinators. This position requires travel, and the successful candidate will need a valid Washington State Driver's License and reliable transportation. Successful candidates will also need to submit Background Checks. This position is supervised by the CWTAP Director. • Masters of Social Work (MSW). • Four years post-MSW practice in public child welfare; • Experience as a practicum instructor, educator, or trainer, or teacher; • Demonstrated ability to work multi-task, work independently, and at a professional level; • Strong writing skills, including the ability to produce and manage professional correspondence; • Strong communication and organizational skills; • Conflict resolution skills; • Familiarity and commitment to the goals of the CWTAP program; • Demonstrated commitment to the professions of social work and public child welfare; • Demonstrated experience and history of respectful, culturally humble work with diverse communities;
