Qualifications

Responsibilities include teaching three four-credit hour courses at graduate and undergraduate levels during each semester in information systems, such as management information systems, business information technology concepts, and web and mobile technology applications. SUMMARY: This is an independent teaching position responsible for the delivery and instruction of the Understanding Fatherhood (UF) at community-based locations. This position is expected to act autonomously with minimal daily supervision and reports to the Baby Bungalow Program Director. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
DUTIES:
1. Plan and deliver Understanding Fatherhood (InJoy Health Education) that promotes positive father/child interaction and child development education to fathers.
a. UF is a parenting class for new dads. A two and a half (2.5) hour session is led by a trained instructor who guides interactions between the expectant dads. The course content utilizes short video clips of interviews with real dads and a fatherhood expert; topics covered during the class range from practical baby care to the emotional state of the parents.
b. Specific functions include preparing for class, providing a warm and welcoming environment for participants, facilitating the group experience in line with program expectations, and cleaning up after the class.
c. Promotes the class in the community under the supervision of the Baby Bungalow Program Director
2. Complete accurate and timely data collection to meet reporting requirements.
3. Creates annual calendar of Understanding Fatherhood classes
4. Attend staff meetings, on-going in-service training and reflective supervision as required.
5. Participate in appropriate agency, department, and community planning teams as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social/behavioral sciences, education or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience working with families in relevant settings. Experience may substitute for bachelor's degree.
3. Successfully complete instructor training.
4. Ability to work when classes are scheduled, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
5. Professional, self-directed, follow-through on projects and prompt responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Good interpersonal skills, team-oriented, customer service focused, and enjoys working with others.
7. Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively
8. Experience in Microsoft Products.
9. Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, kneel, bend, reach, and manipulate objects; move materials up to 10 pounds on a regular basis; infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
10. Some travel around Hillsborough County may be required.
11. Must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the population that Champions for Children serves.
