The LaFetra College of Education at the University of La Verne is building a strong pool of adjunct faculty to support three student-centered programs: the M.S. in Educational Counseling , the M.S. in School Psychology , and the undergraduate Child Development major. Across these programs, we are seeking colleagues who want to join a diverse, collaborative training community committed to preparing ethical, culturally responsive practitioners and educators who lead with competence, advocacy, and a commitment to social change in PK-12 and community contexts. JOB SUMMARY
Both our lower-division and upper-division undergraduate courses are 3-unit courses. Each is taught twice a week on campus (either at our San Bernardino campus or our Palm Desert Campus) for one and a half hours per class session, during the Fall and Spring semesters (15 weeks each). Instructors prepare their syllabi, assignments, classroom activities, lecture materials, and grading rubrics, and teach the courses following department guidelines. Instructors or these courses also hold limited office hours in which they can meet with students who need help, have questions, and require advice about their coursework.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students.
Typical duties include: preparing al materials for teaching assigned courses, in-class teaching, and evaluating student coursework and grading assignments.

Position Details:
The Communication Studies Department in the College of Arts and Letters at Cal State LA, is seeking applications for a pool of part-time faculty lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2025-2026 academic year. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.
Part-time faculty lecturers are hired with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires from the pool of applicants are made when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by an academic department based on changing enrollment patterns, changes to tenure-track faculty assignments, and other factors that cannot be addressed with existing faculty. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but occasionally academic year initial appointments are made. Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance. Often appointments are made just prior to the start of the semester so some faculty lecturers may need to be available on very short notice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must have an appropriate degree from an accredited university (for upper division undergraduate courses-master's degree; for graduate courses-doctoral degree, or master's degree and substantial teaching experience). Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level.

The BA in Communication Studies is available in four options which provide students opportunities to specialize in theory, research, and practice of human communication in specific hubs and contexts. Each option, Health Communication, Mass Communication, Organizational Communication and Social Justice Communication, covers a cluster of the subfields of the discipline represented in the major U.S. and international associations of communication scholarship.

THE DEPARTMENT

Job Description
Instructors teach students to understand the fundamentals, technical aspects, and concepts of the subject matter. More importantly they prepare students to utilize this understanding practically in the workforce. The Radiologic Technology Instructor is primarily responsible for providing quality didactic instruction to students. The instructor ensures the effective delivery of classroom education, supervision, evaluation, and assessment of students assigned to various courses. Additionally, the Instructor supplements clinical education by assisting the clinical coordinator with site visits, evaluating students assigned to clinical affiliates, and recruiting clinical sites. Serving as an additional liaison with clinical affiliates, the instructor supports the integration of clinical training. This role involves active participation in didactic instruction and as needed, supplementing clinical instruction for Radiologic Technology students. The instructor contributes significantly to the education of learners in the field of radiologic technology. This position reports to the Director of the Radiologic Technology Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruct didactic courses as assigned.
Assist in the supervision of clinical education for students.
Evaluate and document process of students in clinical areas and classroom.
Assist in maintaining student clinical assignments.
Counsel students in the clinical setting.
Academic advising
Recruit and maintain applicants and clinical affiliates.
Responsible for outcomes assessment in the program.
Be an active committee member on campus.
Assist in coordinating student clinical education.
Supervises student performance in the clinic.
Develop student objectives and evaluation tools for clinical and didactic education.
Performs competency based clinical evaluations.
Perform competency based didactic evaluations.
Assist in the recruitment and retention of new applicants and clinical affiliates.
Maintains student clinical records.
Assist in scheduling student clinical evaluations.
Assists in the clinical coordinating of clinical education.
Assists staff in maintaining and improving skills relating to student supervision.
Conducts image evaluation with students.
Instructs specific units of didactic education.
Pursues continuing education in professional practice and instructional methodology.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualifications/Requirements: EDUCATION:
Minimum BA/BS degree from an accredited institution in a health-related discipline, master's degree in related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years' experience working as a technologist.
Knowledge of current clinical and theoretical aspects of Radiologic Technology.
Qualified through academic preparation and experience.
Knowledge of curriculum design, outcomes assessment, instruction, program administration, and counseling.
Teaching experience in a Radiologic Technology program.
Compensation:
Pay is calculated per teaching experience and number of course units taught from the most recent Adjunct Salary Scale.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Licensure by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Certification by the State of CA Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch

This is afull-time, tenure track Dental Assisting instructor position in the Health and Wellness Academic and Career Community. SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENT
In addition to the professional responsibilities identified under 18.2.3 of the faculty agreement, this assignment includes (but is not limited to) the following:

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; OR
* Associate's degree and six (6) years of related experience; OR
* Possession of a valid lifetime California Community College credential authorizing service as an instructor in Dental Assisting; OR
* The equivalent (equivalency questions are included in the Faculty Application for Employment).

PROGRAM SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the minimum qualifications indicated above, program-specific qualifications below are required:
* Any bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of professional experience with Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) Certificates; OR
* A dentist licensed to practice in the State of California with occupational experience in the application of fourhanded dentistry principals either as a dental assistant or working with a chairside assistant; OR
* A dental hygienist with a bachelor's degree acquiring the "Certified Dental Assistant" credential by the Dental Assisting National Board and obtaining occupational experience in the application of clinical chairside dental assisting involving fourhanded dentistry; AND
* Shall have been licensed or permitted for a minimum of two years and possess experience in dental assisting subject matter;
* Experience teaching courses in a Dental Assisting program within the past five years;
* Possession of Coronal Polish, Pits and Fissure Sealants Certification;
* Maintain compliance with all Dental Board of California and the Commission on Dental Accreditation standards, including but not limited to training in teaching methodology.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Based upon the minimum and/or desirable qualifications stated in this position announcement, the initial salary placement range is $81,908 (minimum qualifications) to $119,043 (doctorate) (Fall 2025 salary schedule). Placement is based on the regular full-time faculty salary schedule and is dependent upon verification of relevant experience and coursework from a regional or nationally accredited institution of higher learning.
Being able and ready to work onsite at a Chaffey facility or location is an essential function of this job. Being able and ready to work in-person with Chaffey students, Chaffey employees, or other members of the Chaffey community/Chaffey partners/Chaffey contractors is an essential function of this job.

RESPONSIBILITY:
The laboratory instructor is responsible for providing laboratory instruction in developing an understanding of Human Anatomy and Physiology, within the foundations of a registered nursing content. The teaching-learning work environment is generally lightly-supervised, but organized in a structured framework, and fitting within an established nursing curriculum and academic schedule. The input of the instructor is relied upon for developing a more comprehensive and understandable presentation of the course material befitting of the nursing program.
FUNCTIONS:
Prepares and sets up laboratory exercises, demonstrations, and instructional materials; monitors laboratory environment; organizes, arranges, stocks, and distributes materials, equipment, and supplies
Provides instructional support services for the RN Program; assists in instructional demonstrations of procedures and techniques; explains related principles, practices, procedures, methods, materials, terminology, tools, and equipment to students
Operates, demonstrates use of, and maintains various laboratory equipment and materials, including lab solutions, live and preserved specimens, and dissecting equipment
Cleans and ensures proper storage of laboratory equipment; ensures laboratory and work areas are in clean and orderly condition
Maintains accurate logs, reports, and records of work performed and materials and equipment used
Monitors, orders, receives, stores, and maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies and equipment as directed
Assists in training of student workers
