ICA is currently seeking experienced Post DLPT/GRIT Korean language instructors to teach Post DLPT adult professionals, in person at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, CA. Duties:
Plan and conduct Korean language classes using a variety of teaching techniques and approaches to sustain and improve students' listening, reading, and speaking skills (at ILR 2+ and higher).
Administer weekly quizzes and assessments, and conduct other informal or formal evaluations of students' learning progress.
Address individual learner gaps identified through DLPT/OPI scores, diagnostics, and supervisor observations.
Provide monthly written reports of the students' progress to the supervisor and jointly develop plans to address any issues.
Maximize the use of instructional technology, online learning apps, and authentic resources to support independent learning.
Employ task-based and communicative activities that reflect real-world language use.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in foreign language, linguistics, or a related field
Minimum two years of full-time experience teaching Korean to adult students
Experience teaching US military students
Familiarity with DLPT and OPI tests, as well as the post-DLPT/GRIT training program
Proficiency in understanding the ILR scale
Experience integrating instructional technology and authentic resources in teaching and assessment
Experience using online meeting platforms for teaching, such as Zoom or Teams
Native or near-native proficiency in the Korean language

Role Summary
The Full Inclusion Instructor is responsible for working with teachers and students to help facilitate Special Education learning in the classroom. Handles Individuals served concerns in an effective and timely manner
Ensures Active Treatment is being implemented to the Individuals served
Ensures orientation of new Individuals, handles Individuals served concerns in an effective and timely manner
Assists in the development of Individual served goals and objectives
Completes daily and thorough documentation of Individuals served goals, objectives, progress notes, behavior data collection, etc.
Assists with planning and coordinates activities in accordance with the program schedule
Mandated Reporter of any suspected abuse, as defined by Department of Social Services form SOC 314A, of dependent Adults and Elders will be reported to Community Care Licensing in addition to San Andreas Regional Center, Adult Protective Services and/or local law enforcement.
Ensures Person-Centered Planning is being implemented with the Individuals served in the Community ADC Program
Completes all other duties as assigned by the Senior ADC Program Manager
Education & Experience:
Must be 18 years old or older
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent education
Two-plus years' experience is usually preferred

Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment for sustained periods of time on hard flooring, climb slopes, stairs, ramps, and to respond to emergency situations. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
On rare occasions may be required to lift a client, up to 200 pounds with assistance
