The Core Faculty Member would have the unique opportunity to assist the Program Director (PD) in creating and growing a brand-new community-based academic residency program with the full support and resources of Stanford Health Care (SHC) and Stanford School of Medicine.
The Core Faculty Member with CAQ in Sports Medicine will take a lead in developing the MSK curriculum to train Family Medicine residents and help prepare those interested in a Sports Medicine Fellowship to be competitive with the top applicants in the country. This will also include developing pre-participation and sports sideline activities within our community.
The Core Faculty Member will play a central role in curriculum development, resident evaluation, teaching, and scholarly activities within the program, adhering to the ACGME requirements and promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care. Such support is in a collaborative capacity only and does not alter the employment relationship, which remains solely with UMP.
The Core Faculty Member will receive 40% FTE for direct patient care and 60% FTE for residency program-related activities such as clinical supervision and patient care with residents, curriculum development, didactic sessions, workshops, program administration, scholarly activities, and professional engagement.

Our more than 100 faculty members teach English language skills for daily life, academic purposes, vocational training and citizenship preparation. Job Duties
* Teach credit and/or noncredit ESL courses at all levels, including open entry/open-exit courses.
* Teach all components of ESL, including reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and pronunciation at designated levels of instruction.
* Teach morning, afternoon, evening, and/or weekend classes at one or more sites or online. Availability to teach in-person is required.
* Conduct classes composed of a diversity of adult students, including students of all ages, abilities, genders, and sexual orientations and from diverse cultural, religious, ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, educational, and linguistic backgrounds.
* Use computers and other technology to perform state-mandated duties associated with instructing and assessing student progress including but not limited to attendance, census, grading, and Student Learning Outcomes.
* Communicate with ESL department faculty on department related issues such as pedagogy and student assessments and related reports.
* Support and engage in culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices to promote student success and address student equity gaps.
* Participate in professional development on topics including diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism.
* Assign students various learning activities in accordance with the current course outlines, and generate relevant instructional materials to promote student achievement and evaluate student progress.
* Conduct formal and informal testing and assessment of ESL students for diagnostic, placement, and promotional purposes.
* Create a student-centered classroom in which students are taught communicative language either through careful use of existing materials or by teacher-generated materials.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The Department of Communication at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic institution, invites applications for Quarterly Lecturer (non-tenure track) positions to teach courses in Communication Studies. Courses may include Comm 1, (Communication in Everyday Life), Comm 2, (Public Speaking), Comm 3 (Digital Storytelling), Comm 4, (Introduction to Communication Research), Comm 12 (Technology and Communication) and Research Methods (qualitative and quantitative), introductory, intermediate and advanced classes in Journalism, or an introductory course in digital filmmaking, an advanced course in screenwriting, an advanced course in cinematography or editing, or an advanced course in film or television studies.

Mobile App Development: This project- oriented course examines the principles of mobile application design and development. Students will learn application development on the Android platform. Topics will include memory management; user interface design; user interface building; input methods; data handling; network techniques and URL loading; and, finally, specifics such as use of mobile sensing such as GPS and accelerometers. Students are expected to design and develop a professional-quality mobile application that addresses a real-world problem in an innovative way. Coursework will include project conception, design, implementation, and pilot testing of mobile phone software applications, using health applications as the target domain.
Computer Systems: This course will cover all the basics of operating systems: program loading, context switching, threads and synchronization, virtual memory, and block devices and file systems. The course will also cover more advanced topics, such as operating system security and virtualization. This course will be project centric, with students building significant components of an operating system from scratch.
Cloud Computing: This practical course covers fundamentals of cloud computing, including virtualization and containers, distributed file systems and object stores, infrastructure-as-a-service platforms, open-source cloud platforms, key big data platforms, and topics in data center scale systems. Combines lessons, practical work on AWS and other cloud provider provided platforms, readings from literature, and completing practice-oriented training. Uses AWS as an exemplar. Requires instructors to be AWS certified.

Teach computer science classes to a diverse population of students, including students working on A.S. degrees and planning to transfer as well as students who want to build technical skills in order to improve their job opportunities. 1. Teach a variety of computer science courses selected from the following topics: programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, Swift, and/or Kotlin; database systems and data analytics; Unix/Linux and Unix/Linux systems administration; and mobile application programming.
2. Evaluate student performance and progress through in-class observation, assignments, and tests and examinations.
3. Create lesson plans to reflect approved departmental course outlines and descriptions.
4. Participate in instructionally-related and departmental activities including but not limited to staff meetings, curriculum development, selection of appropriate instructional materials, and revision of instructional and testing materials as required.
5. Perform duties associated with instructing students and assessing their progress in relation to identified student learning outcomes.
6. Teach day, evening, online, and/or Saturday classes or classes at one or more sites as required.
7. Supports and engages in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.
8. Participates in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).

Desirable Qualifications
1. Earned degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
2. College or high school level teaching experience, preferably teaching college computer science courses, online and/or face-to-face.
3. Two years of recent non-teaching professional full-time job experience as a programmer in Java, C++, Python, Swift, and/or Kotlin.
4. Two years of recent non-teaching professional full-time job experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Data Science and /or NoSQL/Big Data including database usage, programming, and/or administration.
5. Two years of recent non-teaching professional full-time job experience in Unix/Linux usage, programming, networking and/or administration.
6. Demonstrated experience and working knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
* Unix/Linux and Unix/Linux systems administration.
* Networking and Web Server Administration on Unix/Linux systems, including Apache.
* Programming in C++, Java, Python, Swift, and/or Kotlin.
* Database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and/or NoSQL/Big Data sources.
* Data analytics including visualization and use of business intelligence software.
* Mobile application programming, cloud computing, virtualization.
* Software engineering practices including test-driven development, scrum, software quality assurance, version control including git, and dev ops / build and release automation.
7. Industry related certificate in Red Hat Linux, Oracle OCA/OCP, or other relevant certification (If applicable, submit a photocopy of the certificate with the application package).
8. Demonstrated experience in developing new courses and programs at the college level.
9. Recent non-teaching professional job experience in some aspect of computer science, preferably two years of full-time experience or equivalent.
10. Evidence of instructional experience at the university or college level using culturally responsive pedagogy.
11. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of inequities in higher education and a commitment to rectifying policies and processes that restrict access for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted students.
