We have immediate openings for Archaeology Field Technicians for projects located in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky, which are ongoing and starting soon. These include a Phase III investigation of a major Fort Ancient village site and Phase I, II investigations of Woodland period sites in the Scioto Valley. Field technicians will be working under the supervision of a Field Supervisor and/or Principal Investigator. The ongoing and future projects should see work through the late summer. The work will involve archaeological excavation (i.e., test units), feature documentation, mapping and profiling, shovel testing, surface survey, and screening for artifacts. Phase III investigations are primarily in heated tents. Minimum requirements include an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field; field school or archaeological field experience (previous work in Cultural Resource Management preferred); good organizational skills; and ability to maintain neat and accurate field notes. Pay starts at $20/hr and is based on experience. Per-diem ($41/day) and lodging is provided for all project work requiring overnight stays away from your home office, and paid sick time accrual is offered.     Primary Purpose: The Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair and up-time of Admar Supply and customer equipment. Essential Functions: Inspect and tag returned rental equipment noting any damage or other necessary repairs. Using information on repair tag, and with input from Service Writer and Service Manager, troubleshoot equipment and make necessary repairs. Make sure equipment is properly repaired on a timely basis. Report problems or issues with repairs to Service Manager. Provide detailed description of problem/issue and recommend solution, both short-term and long term. Ensure all repairs have been fully and properly completed. Perform complete inspection of equipment to make sure no other repairs are needed; safety features are in place and working properly; equipment is clean and decals are readable and unit is rent-ready condition. Work in a safe manner obeying all safety rules; keep shop area clean and organized. Correctly use safety equipment and PPE as required. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts. Identify root cause of failure(s) Ability to interpret and follow instructions, solve problems involving concrete variables within well-defined situations.
