Once you join the FDC, there are many career advancement opportunities that progress from entry level as a Correctional Officer to Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major and Colonel. From there, management positions include Assistant Wardens and Wardens. Correctional Officers can join special teams such as Rapid Response Teams, Crisis Response Team, Interdiction Units, K-9 Units, and many other special team opportunities.

As an Assets Protection Specialist, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
Support total store sales, guest service and increase profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available to our guests by preventing and resolving theft.
Resolve theft by using good judgement and conducting apprehensions in shortage focus areas while strictly adhering to AP policies and procedures.
Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.
Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues.

Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation for all incidents following AP policy and procedures.

The incumbent in this position is responsible for observing and monitoring Casino operations in order to ensure compliance with Seminole Tribal Gaming Commission (STGC) approved policies and procedures, Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS), as well as any state compacts and/or federal regulations. The agent is responsible for conducting daily routine observation of activities that occur on the gaming floor, including identifying procedural infractions and/or criminal activity. The individual notifies management and supervisors of any/all suspicious activities and/or irregular circumstances and any other special observation request. The incumbent documents procedural infractions incurred by Casino personnel. This position reports to the STGC Surveillance Manager or Supervisor and is a non-exempt position.
Responsibilities

Observes and monitors Casino operations in order to identify violations of STGC approved policies and procedures, TICS, or to identify theft of Tribal assets.

Monitors the transfer of Casino chips, cash and funds allocated within the Casino as required.
Reports to the Supervisor and documents any suspicious activities and/or irregular circumstances occurring on the Casino floor, including infractions incurred by Casino personnel.
Maintains daily activity report and completes incident reports to note relevant information including but not limited to irregular customer behavior, theft, or procedural errors made by Casino personnel.
Ensures the integrity of the Casino by monitoring and ensuring compliance of gaming machines, covered banked table games, cash operations, and other pertinent Casino departments.
Shares all pertinent information with the all shifts in regards to any suspicious and/or irregular activity occurred during their shift.
In the event of an emergency, reports all suspicious or unusual activity to the relevant casino individuals. Provides pertinent information to Seminole Police Department (SPD), Fire Department, or Emergency Medical Teams when necessary.
Assist with the training and/or mentoring of new employees as needed or directed.
Adheres to all Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures. Adheres to the rules and regulations as set by the STGC and works within the guidelines of the TICS.
Performs additional related duties as assigned.

* Assists with the development, drafting, and revisions to County ordinances based on observations in the field.
* Performs proactive patrols of assigned areas within the County to detect violations; removes signs on right-of-way along roadways.

* Enters signs, property, and violation photographs and other information into a computer database; retrieves, reviews, or organizes case information using a computer database; verifies the accuracy of data; and makes corrections as appropriate.
Code Enforcement Compliance:
* Receives, investigates, and validates complaints of violations to the County's ordinances, codes, and regulations about the most common violations regarding operational and tag requirements of all vehicles, parking and storage requirements of recreational vehicles, prohibition of weeds, litter and exotics, fence permits, prohibited uses of unimproved property, vertical construction requirements, canopy tents and/or shade permit requirements as well as regulations about the number and type of animals in residential areas; obtains witness and/or complainant statements.
* Reviews blueprints, plats, and various maps; ensures structures are constructed to plan or waste materials are disposed of properly.
* Performs research to determine ownership, location, and legal description of the property, zoning requirements, and other concerns; obtains property deeds; and research permits; informs citizens and business owners of violations and explains problems; prepares, issues, and/or posts warnings, notices of violations and citations for code violations; and issues citations and notices to appear to violators.
* Re-inspect properties to ensure infractions have been abated and properties are in compliance with all regulations.
* Provide direction to Code Enforcement investigative staff (Park Rangers, law enforcement, Domestic Animal Services, and Public Utilities) regarding Code Enforcement Board (CEB) and Office of Special Magistrate (OSM) rules and regulations and hearing proceedings.
* Schedules, attends, and oversees pre-hearing meetings for both OSM and CEB; researches and compiles all data outcomes from CEB and OSM hearings and enters them into the Department database; generates and completes required post-hearing results and fees; transfers appropriate evidence that was presented at the hearing to Minutes and Records; and reviews CEB and OSM hearing minutes for accuracy.
* Prepares and reviews legal documents used in the prosecution of violators and attends hearings to provide testimony; prepares legal documents to obtain inspection warrants; negotiates and drafts stipulated agreements for presentation in the appropriate legal forum; and acts as a prosecutor for the County and presents code violation cases (or citations) before the Special Master or the Code Enforcement Board for adjudication.

The incumbent in this position is responsible for observing and monitoring Casino operations in order to ensure compliance with Seminole Tribal Gaming Commission (STGC) approved policies and procedures, Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS), as well as any state compacts and/or federal regulations. The agent is responsible for conducting daily routine observation of activities that occur on the gaming floor, including identifying procedural infractions and/or criminal activity. The individual notifies management and supervisors of any/all suspicious activities and/or irregular circumstances and any other special observation request. The incumbent documents procedural infractions incurred by Casino personnel. This position reports to the STGC Surveillance Manager or Supervisor and is a non-exempt position.

Reports to the Supervisor and documents any suspicious activities and/or irregular circumstances occurring on the Casino floor, including infractions incurred by Casino personnel. Maintains daily activity report and completes incident reports to note relevant information including but not limited to irregular customer behavior, theft, or procedural errors made by Casino personnel. Ensures the integrity of the Casino by monitoring and ensuring compliance of gaming machines, covered banked table games, cash operations, and other pertinent Casino departments. Shares all pertinent information with the all shifts in regards to any suspicious and/or irregular activity occurred during their shift.
In the event of an emergency, reports all suspicious or unusual activity to the relevant casino individuals. Provides pertinent information to Seminole Police Department (SPD), Fire Department, or Emergency Medical Teams when necessary. Assist with the training and/or mentoring of new employees as needed or directed. Adheres to all Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures.
