As a Clinical SpeechPathologist, you will perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing functions of patients. This includes interpreting and reporting test results to facilitate medical diagnosis, providing counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and their families and determining therapeutic plans, including the need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy.
A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) from 8:00AM - 4:30PM. The PRN requirement includes, at minimum, two working shifts per month.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures.
* Evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients.
* Interpret and report test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.
* Provide counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and families.
* Determine therapeutic plans, including the need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy.
* Select assistive speech devices to improve the patient's communication.
* Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy.

* Assist with planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting and purchase of new equipment or materials.
