In 2000, the school moved from Dry Creek Valley to southeast Boise and changed its name to RiverStone Community School.
Wanting to develop a global student body, the school’s first international exchange students arrived in 2002.
The ICS Educational Foundation Board and the ICS administration, with the generous support of the families of ICS, purchased the current 16.2 rai plot of land in Bangna and began building in 2003.
International Community School opened the Bangna campus in September 2004 with close to 500 students in four-year-old kindergarten through twelfth grade.
In 2005, the school became an accredited member of the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) and our second graduating class became the first recipients of an IB Diploma in Idaho.
In 2009, Riverstone was granted authorization to offer the Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme and began offering a dual language — Spanish and English — full day preschool.
Beginning in 2011, plans for the construction of a new 63,925 square foot building to replace the former building were created by the school's faculty and the school district.
The school grew slowly but steadily, adding classrooms and other facilities until by 2012 there was no more room for expansion on the first site.
In 2012, Riverstone was honored as Idaho’s only Malone Family Foundation School.
As the first site could no longer accommodate the number of students seeking admission, in August 2013 the school was moved to its present site, a spacious campus that accommodates more students in classes from Play Group through 12th Grade with provision for three arms of each grade level.
The building opened in January of 2017 with two music rooms and three science classrooms, including a wet laboratory and dry laboratory, and our college counselor’s office.
