As a Retail Inventory Specialist, you would be a part of our CROSSMARK Field Intelligence Team. The primary function of this team is to travel locally to grocery, mass merchant, and drug stores collecting observational data about product placement and inventory information. To do this, you would spend the majority of your day walking and standing on the sales floor using a handheld device to scan products. The work is typically performed Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pm with occasional weekend work. Once the initial one-on-one training is complete, this job provides some scheduling flexibility with the expectation that assigned work is completed within a specified deadline.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for management and general oversight of inventory at all four Robinson, Inc. locations. This includes being the support person for the ship floor when materials are missing or not on BOMs. In addition, ensuring inventory is accurate and the stocking of materials is appropriate.
ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES
· Be the primary contact for the shop floor when solving inventory issues. This includes materials that can't be found or are not listed on BOMs but are needed by production.
· Coordinate solutions between production, procurement, and engineering to resolve issues. Act timely to ensure production downtime is minimal.
· Work with production to implement processes and procedures related to inventory that support production and eliminate inefficiencies.
· Oversee year-end inventory counts each June, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
· Schedule, communicate, coordinate, and execute organizational wide cycle counts while maintaining strict records.
· Maintain and evaluate inventory records on a quarterly basis. Identify obsolete and slow-moving inventory, as well as the root cause of these inventory balances. Work with different departments to determine action items related and opportunities for improvement to minimize issues in the future.
· Work with other departments to create an efficient space utilization plan.
· Evaluate transfers of materials to various warehouses based on job production.
· Evaluate and discuss routing discrepancies that have resulted in inventory issues.

· Assist with kanban program implementation.
· Inventory management of customer supplied materials.

• Assist in performing physical inventories.
• Coordinates FGDS cycle counts. Documents discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Fields inventory related questions and provides support information to customer service, invoicing, warehousing/shipping, manufacturing and quality assurance.
• Maintains historical records of all FGDS transactions, including cycle counts, audits performed, discrepancies and resolutions.
• Reviews inventory levels to determine optimal levels through ABCD analysis.
• Continuous evaluate of aged, stagnant or slow moving inventory.
• Coordinate the delivery of products from outside warehouse locations to the primary shipping facility needed to fill orders.
• Contact carriers to schedule shipment pick-ups as needed.
• Trace shipments as requested.
• Resource to address and resolve customer and other department inquires and problems.
• Develop and maintain metrics that demonstrate continuous improvement of inventory controls.
• Act as a back-up for shipping/receiving supervisor to cover responsibilities, as requested.
Other Responsibilities:
• Daily contact with Customer Service, Accounting, Warehouse/Distribution personnel, Quality Assurance personnel, and Manufacturing.
• This position has a shared responsibility for major assets in the form of finished goods inventories. A considerable impact can be made on distribution costs and customer satisfaction through the initiation and maintenance of accurate and timely transactions relating to these assets.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Good math skills to assure accuracy of the control systems.
• Basic knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Ability to learn several software systems used to reconcile inventory.
• SAP knowledge a plus.
• Investigative abilities to analyze problems and identify alternative solutions to resolve unique FGDS inventory problems.
• Gather, evaluate and interpret information.
• Effectively organize, plan and execute.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.
Education and Experience
• Preferred two year degree or minimum of a high school diploma with emphasis on business/supply chain is desired.
• A year or two of exposure to Dixon Manufacturing/Distribution would be a plus.
