Our Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD), General and Architecture Unit is currently seeking a Information Technology Specialist I (IT Spec I) Developer. The IT Spec I works in the General and Architecture Unit within the ESDD and will support the my CalPERS (MCP) system. Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the IT Spec I is responsible for triaging production issues, successful resolution of defects and implementation of enhancements of the MCP system. The IT Spec I works closely with the solutions architects, business analysts, developers, testers of their own domain and other domains. The IT Spec I works, both independently and cooperatively with others, to carry out assignments using considerable judgment to achieve objectives while following established time frames and performance standards. As necessary, the IT Spec I will mentor peers on innovative application development methodologies to provide quality services to customers. This position significantly utilizes Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices to maintain and enhance the MCP system. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex technical problems independently. Experience supporting Windows-based systems; experience with Linux environments strongly preferred. Experience working in an interruption-intensive, customer-facing technical environment. Strong documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass a background check and random drug testing. Willingness to comply with Connect's Acceptable Use Policy and Security Policy. On-call availability as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing multiple lab or multi-site technology environments. Experience in K-12 education, ITC, or public-sector technology support.
