Job Description:
The Regional Dining Director provides leadership, direction, and support for the dining programs across multiple assisted and independent living communities within an assigned region. Monitor resident satisfaction through surveys, feedback, and direct engagement; implement improvements as needed.
Partner with operations and resident care teams to support Wellness and personalized dining experiences.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance
Ensure all communities comply with federal, state, and local health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
Maintain compliance with company policies, licensing requirements, and senior living industry dining standards.
Support communities in preparation for health inspections and audits.
Provide follow up and coaching after surveys or inspections to ensure sustained compliance.
Financial & Resource Management
Manage regional dining budgets, food costs, and labor utilization in alignment with financial goals.
Implement cost-control measures without compromising quality or resident satisfaction.
Partner with procurement to ensure effective vendor relationships and supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Nutrition, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of dining/culinary leadership experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality.
Multi-site or regional management experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of dietary guidelines for older adults, therapeutic diets, and food safety regulations.
ServSafe Certification or equivalent required.

Summary:
The Director of Dining Services delivers and oversees a high-quality restaurant style dining experience for our residents, their guests, and staff; The Dining Services Director plans, organizes, develops, and directs the operations of the Fine dining venues, Bistros, Resident dining and Household dining within a community to assure the highest quality meals with the correct nutritional balance are provided on a daily basis and that the department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and evaluates the Dining Service department's programs and activities, and coordinates them with other related departments
2. Oversees and leads the staff of Dining Services, including but not limited to recruitment, staffing, performance management, corrective actions, staff development and training and orientation
3. Maintains an ongoing quality assurance program for the Dining Services Department. Uses EverTrue standards to determine quality and quantity of food served. Assures that menus are maintained and followed in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure that all residents' dietary needs are being met. Works with menus and recipes contained in the EverTrue recipe and menu management system.
4. Oversees the purchasing of food service supplies, equipment, etc.; Conducts reviews to ensure that necessary equipment is available and working properly.
5. Ensures that staff complies with established regulations, EverTrue Standards and safe food handling practices, in regards to safety, sanitation and cleanliness, food storage and preparation.
6. Operates within a formalized departmental budget. Works in conjunction with the Executive Director on budget development and financial tracking related to staffing, purchasing, production and service.
7. Provides reports and recommendations to the Executive Director, Dietitian and the Vice President of Facilities and Dining regarding the operation of the department.
8. Communicates with and supports the Household Coordinators and Household dining operations. Works collaboratively with other departments and department leadership.
9. Inspects food storage areas, utility closets, etc. for upkeep and supply control; Assures adequate control of equipment and supplies.
10. Develops plans of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections.
11. Develops, maintains, and interprets written department policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
-5 or more years' experience with a formal education in food service, hospitality or culinary management in the senior living arena, restaurant, or the hospitality industry.
-Strong communication and customer service skills and a desire to create a high degree of customer satisfaction
-Strong understanding of culinary cuisine and food trends preferred
-A degree in food service or hospitably management with a CDM, CFPP certification in food preferred. Current ServSafe certification required.
-Ability to make independent decisions and lead the Dining Services department in achieving its goals and objectives.
-Must be knowledgeable of laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions
-Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures

The Department Manager oversees the food service program at a single site, ensuring high food quality standards, inventory management, food safety, and customer service. Details about the Dining Services Director position we are hiring for:
The Dining Services Director is responsible for actively preparing meals and managing the operations of the Dining Services Department. Candidates for our Dining Services Director position should have the ability to serve excellent and nutritious food, while ensuring first-rate quality dining service, in a safe and comfortable atmosphere. Maintaining superior cleanliness and safety standards, along with the ability to manage and motivate staff members and maintaining a positive physical and social environment for our residents.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Relevant work experience (2+ years preferred)
At least one-year supervisory experience preferred
Must possess all required licenses and/or certifications if required by State licensing authority and maintain continuing education requirements
Current food service sanitation license required
Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public
Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual
Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others
Must be able to supervise dining services department employees using independent judgment and discretion
Must have basic reporting and organizational skills
Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks

Job Summary
Job Summary:
The Sr. Director of Dining Services is responsible for overseeing the day to day Foodservice operations. You will manage and lead a team of employees, and also be responsible for managing client relationships, profitability of the account, and talent development.
Key Responsibilities
:
Operates the department in accordance with the approved budget, while providing the client with the maximum value for the dollars spent
Ensures that the food that is offered is of superior quality
Directs and conducts safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs
Maintains excellent relationships with guests and clients as well as other departments within the community
Promotes the professional growth and development of the entire team
Fosters strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the dining service department with the facility plan of operations
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of additional experience
Minimum of five years of Proven Leadership expertise
Two to four years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
ServSafe certified a plus
Must be forward thinking, proactive and the face of the company

The Department Manager oversees the food service program at a single site, ensuring high food quality standards, inventory management, food safety, and customer service. This role requires adherence to facility menus, federal, state, and local regulations, and HCSG policies to consistently provide quality dining services.
Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment while using HCSG computer software..
Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; perform roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
Communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff effectively.
Use protective gear, ensure safe mixing and use of cleaning solutions, and report equipment needs or malfunctions promptly.
Follow infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment.
Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of tasks.
Represent HCSG positively through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, client staff, residents, and guests.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher in food service management or hospitality, including food service or restaurant management coursework preferred.
Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision preferred.
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred (or as required by state and county law).
Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within the first 14 days of employment
Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications within the first 60 days of employment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership to perform daily tasks.
Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.
May be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
