The unit specializes in Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, and Abdominal Surgery. 2N also can care for patients requiring remote telemetry. Our patient population includes pediatric, adolescent, adult, and aging adult.
Collaborates with nursing leadership and education professionals to coordinate, influence, and assist with the implementation of nursing care and related nursing activities at the nursing unit level. Assesses, develops and implements orientation and education programs for department staff to positively impact the quality of patient care.

Responsibilities
* Integrates the UnityPoint Health Moines Nursing Expectations of Performance in all aspects of care delivery and professional practice
* Collaborates in developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of evidenced based practice and policies/procedures related to care
* Develops, implements, and evaluates clinical orientation for nursings
* Supports the clinical preceptor for effective clinical education of staff

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required. BSN Preferred but not required.
Experience: Two years of experience in relevant clinical area required. Would prefer a minimum of five years Med-Surg experience.
License(s)/Certification(s): Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
Strongly encourage certification in one of the following areas: CMSRN, NICHE, or Ortho.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional educational and lifestyle backgrounds. Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
