Sean Mackay is a Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder at Isoplexis and is based in New Haven, Connecticut. John joined Ironwood Capital in 2010 with nearly 20 years of experience in high technology venture investment, equipment leasing, middle market and leveraged finance, loan syndication and commercial credit. John’s primary responsibilities include deal origination, underwriting, execution and portfolio management for Ironwood Capital Connecticut, a pool of insurance company capital invested in Connecticut-based businesses across the capital spectrum. He began his career in public accounting, managed sales and credit operations for LTI Ventures and was a Senior Vice President at Webster Bank. John possesses a strong entrepreneurial spirit and has successfully funded several new businesses and helped these organizations leverage and expand their core capabilities. He serves as a board member of the Connecticut Venture Group. A native of Mount Vernon, New York, John lives in Cheshire, Connecticut where he and his wife raise their two daughters. A former collegiate runner, he competes in local races and recently completed the Chicago Marathon. His next goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon. John received his undergraduate degree from Western Connecticut State University, holds an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut, and is Certified Public Accountant.

Jing Zhou is the Chief Scientific Officer at IsoPlexis. Working with the talented multidisciplinary teams at the company, she is responsible for developing single-cell assays for precisely profiling the functional properties and heterogeneity of immune cells using IsoPlexis’ IsoCode proteomics platform, and for discovery of predictive biomarkers as correlates of patient outcome to immunotherapies. Since joining IsoPlexis in 2015, she has led multiple studies with various biopharma and trial center leaders, particularly in the immuno-oncology space, to develop single-cell polyfunctional metrics that can distinguish and predict patient response to CAR-T and antibody-based cancer immunotherapies. These novel findings have led to numerous presentations at prestigious scientific conferences including AACR, ASH, ASCO, SITC, FOCiS and high-impact publications in journals such as Blood and JITC. Prior to IsoPlexis, she was an immunologist at the Yale School of Medicine with expertise in defining phenotype and functionality of immune cells in diseased and healthy settings, with a good track record of 30+ scientific publications in leading journals. Jing earned her medical degree in Clinical Medicine from Bengbu Medical College, M.S. and Ph.D. in Immunology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and has been the principal investigator of NIH, AHA and Yale University grants.
