The housekeeper is responsible for performing all housekeeping and cleaning duties necessary to assure that areas within our facilities meet the highest level of sanitation and cleanliness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to empty trash, clean and polish, vacuum, damp mop, hand scrub, sweep, etc., as assigned by the Facilities Manager or other management staff.
Reports any unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to the Facilities Manager.

Housekeeping The Environmental Services Aide Per Diem will: * Receives cleaning assignments, supplies, and equipment for work day at the beginning of the shift. Performs a final check and cleans up at the end of the shift. * Collects supplies from Environmental Services supply room at beginning of the shift.
* Maintains tools and equipment in good conditions. Reports any needed repairs, structural damage, safety hazard or equipment malfunction immediately. Economically uses supplies, materials and equipment
* Proceeds to assigned area to begin daily tasks.
* Observes all safety policies and procedures with regards to wet floor signs, placement of equipment, labeled bottles, etc., at all times.
* Cleans cart and equipment according to standard procedures.
* Performs clean-up 15 minutes before the end of the shift according to standard Environmental Services' procedure.
* Performs daily tasks to maintain a germ-free, clean and orderly area.
* Cleans each area, thoroughly, following standard Environmental Services procedures. Strips, cleans and dresses delivery and C-section rooms quickly and thoroughly after use.
* Uses proper chemicals and equipment as per standard Environmental Services procedures and as observed by the Unit Supervisor.
* Cleans areas according to standards as indicated on daily inspection sheets and weekly Quality Assurance Inspection Forms.
* Washes walls, vents, ceilings, doors, waste receptacles, as needed as indicated by Supervisor's checks.
* Ensures areas are completely cleaned by the end of the shift as noted on the Supervisor's final rounds.
* Cleans all stretchers, stools, utility tables, I.V. poles, overhead lights.
* Cleans and sanitizes laboratories in area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: VALUE
Collects soiled linen and resident personal clothing from applicable facility areas.
Operates washers and dryers using established formulas and following instructions for safe operation of machines.
Sorts linen and personal clothing and loads washing machine assuring correct and safe levels.
Washes contaminated laundry (such as from isolation rooms) in accordance with special procedures to prevent contamination and spread of disease.
Removes laundry from dryer, sorts, folds, and hangs garments that do not require pressing. (Iron presses clothing per resident's request).
Counts linens for inventory control including
Labels and inspects resident personal clothing for correct labeling, and need for repair as applicable.
Provides housecleaning services to assigned areas as directed, including but not necessarily limited to: ▪ Dusting, sanitizing, disinfecting, and polishing surfaces. ▪ Performing floor surface cleaning including dry/wet mopping and vacuuming. ▪ Providing emergency and project cleaning as assigned. ▪ Performing routine and terminal cleaning in facility's resident rooms, private apartments and contracted facilities as directed
