+ The Crew Leader Driver executes site-level tasks on BrightView's client sites. This position directs the work of 2-5 other team members and ensures assigned tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the quality standards set by BrightView and BrightView's clients. The Crew Leader Driver oversees crews working in varying service lines, including basic maintenance, landscape installation, and supportive services like irrigation, seasonal color management, and chemical applications.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Prepare landscape trucks for daily operations, including loading and securing equipment (e.g., gas cans, mowers, trailers) and safely operating vehicles in compliance with traffic laws.
+ Deliver services as specified on client sites while maintaining schedules and meeting service expectations.
+ Identify and escalate customer problems or concerns to the Operations Manager
+ Communicate regularly with Operations Manager to ensure client needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded
+ Assist in resolving issues with customer service when needed
+ Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies
+ Oversee day-to-day site operations, delegate work to crew team members, and coordinate service execution with Operations Manager.
+ Provide feedback on crew performance and assist in developing and training team members
+ Monitor and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, ensuring it is in safe working order
+ Accurately capture and turn in crew time logs through electronic time capture (ETC)
+ Log equipment usage and maintenance cycles
+ Perform maintenance on equipment, including:
+ Unloading equipment from BrightView trucks/trailers
+ Wash equipment and truck
+ Change equipment blades, oil, and air filters.
+ Grease machines
+ Conduct EDVIR (Electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports) on assigned vehicles.
+ Participate in branch meetings as directed
+ Continuously look for more efficient ways to perform work
**Education and Experience:**
+ Valid Driver's License
+ Must be able to operate various vehicles, with or without trailers.
+ BrightView Equipment certifications
+ Experience in a landscape-related field
+ Demonstrated leadership among the team and with peers
**Physical Demands/Requirements:**
+ Safely perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscaping equipment and materials, including, but not limited to, backpack blowers, large containers of mulch/plant material, assorted sizes of lawnmowers, etc.
+ Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
+ Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
+ Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day
**Work Environment:**
+ This role works in an outdoor work environment.
+ Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
+ Work near or about natural bodies of water

They may approve time off requests for the employees in their department.
Crew leaders do not counsel others, have no involvement in conducting performance reviews or evaluating pay rates (although their opinions can be considered when Yard Management is writing a review), and Crew Leaders do not handle disciplinary action if issues arise. Yard Management is responsible for the tasks listed in this paragraph and if these topics are presented to a crew leader by staff, the Crew Leader is to have Yard Management get involved.
The Pesticide Handler will work alongside a small team of handlers to assure pesticide spray work orders assigned by the Plant Health Specialist and/or Yard Manager are executed effectively. The position requires strong attention to detail, a basic understanding of plants and plant pests and diseases, and a safety mindset.
Essential Functions:
• Maintain a clean pesticide storage area, where all pesticides are kept within a locked cabinet at all times.
• Assure that the yard is always stocked adequately with Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, masks, protective eyewear, and Tyvek spray suits). Report needed inventory to Plant Health Specialist (PHS) or Yard Management
• Read and strictly follow pesticide labels
• Apply insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides according to work orders assigned by PHS or Yard Manager
• Safely measure and mix pesticides in large tank sprayers and backpacks to be used for applications
• Make sure spray equipment is all in good working order (larger spray rigs, backpack sprayers and trailers). Report damages to PHS or Yard Manager
• Assure that proper signage is posted in areas where pesticides have been applied.
• Report insect problems and plant pathogens to PHS or Yard Manager.
• Actively monitor nursery stock for insect infestations or plant diseases.
• Operates mechanized spray equipment
• The Crew Lead ensures the team is accurately recording and meeting reporting requirements in a timely manner.
• The Crew Lead ensures all supplies are in stock and that requests for additional supplies have been made.
• Patience, good teaching skills.
• Ability to perform weed and pest audits
• General care for the nursery grounds, keeping the nursery clean, organized, and safe for employees, customers and vendors.
• General care for nursery stock (plants), ensures plants are watered, handled with care, and are placed in the appropriate location.
