Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing different kinds of electrical systems. Determines the layouts and testing of electrical patterns.
Reads blueprints, runs conduit, and wires devices.
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and code specifications for determining wiring layouts.
Performs upgrades or preventive maintenance to electrical control systems.
Runs tests, isolates problems, replaces damaged sections of wiring, and layout circuits.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma is required; prefer some trade or technical school classes.
3+ years' work experience as an electrician apprentice.
Electrician apprenticeship.
License as a Journeyman or Electrician to meet state requirements.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Knowledge of electrical applications for high and low-voltage electric systems.
Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.

The Control Buildings & E-Houses Journeyman is responsible for the installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems within prefabricated control buildings, E-houses, and related modular power systems. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, industrial systems, and the ability to execute work safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Major Duties:
Understand, review and implement the installation per the contract drawings and specifications including single line diagrams, schematics, and wiring prints.
Plan and layout of the project including planned installation material take-off quantities and tool needs based on the project schedule.
Plan the projects material, equipment, and labor needs for timely arrival to and from the site.
Install and terminate conduit, cable trays, and wiring for power and control systems inside Control Buildings and E-houses.

Duties
Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
Assists carpenters to form and pour footings and walls, shored decks, and edge forms for slabs.
Assists carpenters to install architectural finishes according to specifications and plans if necessary, on job.
Maintains a clean and safe job site.
Assists carpenters to reads blueprints to determine measurements, sizes, locations, types of walls, footings, floors, etc.
Utilizes carpentry math to calculate measurements required to construct facilities.
Assists carpenters to apply knowledge of concrete and its properties.
Assists carpenters to determine elevations and layout through-the-use-of builder levels, transits, lasers, etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Construct, install, and repair structural and finished woodwork, masonry, tile, furniture, fixtures, equipment, floors, ceiling systems, and roofs.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine accurate project requirements.
Install subfloors, partitions, studs, joists, drywall, rafters, tunnel and sewer supports.
Install millwork, custom cabinetry, stairs, railings, trims, molding, bathroom hardware, and hardware backing.
Repair and install doors, door frames (hollow metal and wood), locks, hardware, door closing mechanisms, and ADA signs.
Work with concrete in excavating, forming, laying, and finishing sidewalks, curbs, slabs, etc.
Perform light to moderate demolition, including the removal of damaged or unneeded structural components.
Utilize hand and power tools to complete a wide range of carpentry tasks.
Work with other team members to ensure projects are completed to a high standard.
