Khyber Medical University company history timeline
In 1954, the foundation stone of Khyber Medical College, as faculty of Medicine, of Peshawar University, was laid by the then Governor General of Pakistan, Mr.
Khyber Medical College was established in 1955 to fulfill the medical needs of the North West Frontier Province.
The College started functioning in 1955 with enrollment of fifty students with meager facilities.
From 1955 to present the college has undergone tremendous development.
At the dissolution of One Unit in 1964, the first act of the newly constituted NWFP legislature was to transfer the college back to the provincial government.
It remained under the administrative control of health department after parting way from Peshawar University in 1975.
